I paid mine back in the eighties. The numbers were not high, but the % of my income and inflation were much worse.

Can I get a refund on that?

And even though I did not major in accounting, I am wondering what we plan to say to the people who bought Treasury bonds to support the loans? I mean they expect a return on their investment don’t they? Isn’t this what bankrupt countries do?

If an education gives marketable skills it has value.

If not then it’s a hobby.

So if someone knowingly got in debt for their hobby, while reports of others being unable to repay their loans were already rampant, why shouldn’t their taking on that debt reflect them engaging in fraud, where they never really expected to repay in the first place?

Peanuts. What is stopping her from introducing a bill to cancel the national debt.

The solution is easy: stop offering federal student loan guarantees.

The bloated college system collapses and we get more sensible college rates.

No more student loans. Free education paid for by the government as long as you major in finger painting.

So the 20% privileged enough to go to college want the 80% who either didn’t go to college, or paid off their loans themselves, to pay for their college.

Got it.

Shouldn’t those of us who have already paid off our student loans get a refund before they start forgiving the debt of those who have not?

So what about my kids who worked very hard to pay the loans off and are now debt free?

Do they get a reimbursement, or are they too white to count?

What the heck. The deficit next year is already projected to be over $1 trillion. What’s another trillion on top of that?

Buying votes by making lower income blue collar workers subsidize 4-6 year long luxury vacations for upper middle class whites.
