Gabbard Torches MSNBC Host: It Sounds Like Kamala's Giving You Her Talking Points

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) took shots at Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) and her prosecutorial record during Wednesday night's Democratic Debate.

"Senator Harris says she's proud of her record as a prosecutor and she'll be a prosecutor as president. But I'm deeply concerned about this record. There are too many examples to cite but she put over 1,500 people in jail for marijuana violations and then laughed about it when she was asked if she ever smoked marijuana," Gabbard said. "She blocked evidence that would have freed an innocent man from death row until the courts forced her to do so. She kept people in prison beyond their sentences to use them as cheap labor for the State of California and she fought to keep cash bail systems in place. That impacts poor people in the worst kind of way."

Gabbard was asked about aspects of the debate during a Thursday appearance on MSNBC's “Live with Ali Velshi," at which point Gabbard accused host Yasmin Vossoughian of being fed talking points from Sen. Kamala Harris' (D-CA) presidential campaign.

The claim came about when Vossoughian questioned Gabbard about her meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, the Daily Caller reported.

Vossoughian wanted to know if Gabbard's meeting with al-Assad is the same as Gabbard's claim that President Donald Trump supports Al-Qaeda. Gabbard was offended by the thought.

"I don't know how you could equate that," she responded.

"- that you'd be meeting with the leader of Syria, that would be responsible for the killings of over half a million people who ordered the chemical attacks on children in his own country?" Vossoughian asked.

According to the Congresswoman, she would meet with the president or leader of any country if it meant establishing peace and keeping her fellow brother and sisters in uniform out of harms way.

“If that means meeting with a dictator, meeting with an adversary in order to accomplish that mission of keeping the American people safe, making sure our troops are not continuing to be sent on these wasteful wars putting their lives at risk and making sure we’ve got the resources for the American people, I will do what is necessary,” she explained.

"So you don't see the parallels there -" Vossoughian asked.

Gabbard referenced to former presidents meeting with various dictators and other world leaders during their time.

"So, why meeting with people like Stalin or meeting with Bashar al-Assad but not necessarily meeting with the leaders of Saudi Arabai or meeting or having a relationship with them?" Vossoughian asked. She said she wanted to get Gabbard's take because there "seems to be some inconsistencies" with what the Congresswoman was saying.

Gabbard made it clear she believed MSNBC was running with Harris' talking points because the California Senator refuses to address the issues with her record. Specifically, the Congresswoman was referencing the al-Assad meeting, which Harris continually launches at Gabbard.

“Every time I come back here on MSNBC, you guys talk to me about these issues. It sounds like these are talking points that Kamala Harris and her campaign are feeding you because she’s refusing to address the questions that were posed to her,” Gabbard said.

Gabbard accuses an MSNBC host of being fed a line of questioning from Harris's team.

She makes Rand Paul look like a war-mongerer. I am not an interventionist by any means; but there will be times when U.S. military will be needed. Gabbard wants us to be the equivalent of an Ostrich.

I'm with you on this one, E3. The challenge of course is to know where and how to use the military (and where not to). Not so easy, as we've seen since WWII. Tough talk about promoting freedom is often followed by guilt-ridden cut and run vacuums. Neither gets us to the foreign policy we claim we want.

Screw her head on 20 degrees to the right and she’d make a good Republican.

Well, maybe after a few beatings by the RAT Majority Whip, she'll look for some relief on the right side of the aisle....but she'd probably still only be a RINO.

Tulsi is calling for an end to the forever wars that are drawing our resources and creating massive Muslim refugee flows to the US

If I have a “crush,” it’s on that message. It used to be Trumps message, but he’s muted it somewhat. He’s even threatening to send warships to Venezuela, as if that puddly backwater represents any threat to the US.

I’m hoping Tulsi’s message will remind Trump he wasnt elected by following the McCain ideology of endless new wars. Just the opposite - many people voted for him hoping to stop the neocon craziness

I want to see her get enough support to stay in the race. I want to see her rip a new one for Kameltoe in the next debate.

No need to be sarcastic.

Liberals will always be with us. It’s in everybody’s interest that the next generation of libs be in the Hubert Humphrey/Scoop Jackson mold than the little Leninists we have today.

With the Lord’s help, Rep. Gabbard and a few others may acquire a bit of wisdom in the coming years. Do I think this is going to happen? No, but one can always pray that the America’s political fever will break.

I actually hope the day comes when I will be considered a liberal.

I always considered myself as a “Classic Liberal”, then the Communists hijacked the term.

You and free-market champion Friedrich von Hayek, among others. Although considered a champion of right-wing economics, the Nobel prize winner actually wrote an essay about why he didn’t consider himself a conservative.

Conservatism as it consists today is about two parts classical liberalism (economic freedom under the rule of law) and one part classical conservatism (faith, family, and tradition).

That’s why I try to avoid using the word “liberal” when “Leftist” or “Socialist” or “Communist” is much more accurate.

You were not impressed? I just watched it, and it was a great and patriotic tribute to our vets...of which she is one. How many of the other 19 ‘Rats ever put on the uniform in defense of this great nation? Maybe Sleepy Joe.

I want to see her knock out Fauxahontas, KlubKar, and Roundheels! Also that dingbat Sillyglands.

In this multicultural world seems logical that talking heads need to provide their ethnic background and cultural heritage so we know exactly where they are coming from with their punditry and perspectives.

“In this multicultural world seems logical that talking heads need to provide their ethnic background and cultural heritage so we know exactly where they are coming from with their punditry and perspectives.”

The other option is to simply turn them off. You have total control over that... and it does wonders for your tranquility.

OMG
What a boring speech and a boring speaker.

Does anyone have any idea what she was talking about?

She’s not “cute” or even all that attractive. She’s just cuter, or more attractive than anyone else running...

BFD

***************************

Sorry but she is smoking hot. At least from a male standpoint. And I am embarrassingly critical of women’s looks. Her appearance may actually work against her with the female vote as I think a lot of women will find reasons not to vote for her that aren’t the actual reason, which is being envious of her appearance. Your post may prove my point.

Until she opens her mouth, Kamala Harris is a reasonably attractive woman. But side-by-side in the camera shots with Gabbard, Harris looked like an old, haggard, beast.
