I think what’s happening is the Derp State and Dems are authorizing mass shootings like in El Paso and Dayton, because Trump’s economy is roaring and the Democrats running against him are utterly futile.

You would think somebody would get something right for once. If the images attributed to Walmart surveillance cameras are legitimate, then the gunman was carrying an AK-47 style carbine, which is not a ".223" rifle. That is also what his purported manifesto says he intends to use.
The "eye protection" the shooter is wearing look like his normal glasses.
Last I read a few hours ago the guy is on some heavy left wing vibe.

Ak-74 is chambered in 5.45×39mm. Either the caliber was wrong (probably) in report, or it was a conversion.. Though I don’t know why someone would take a Russian arm and convert it to .223.
The Kalashnikov platform can be and indeed is chambered in at least three calibers commonly imported or manufactured. 762x39, 223 rem/556 Nato, 545x39 (and 762x51). So, just because it looks like an AK47/74 from profile, does not mean much, it may well be chambered in 223/556.
As a renowned politician once stated “ what does it matter at this point?”.
The fact is nutcase murdered people, whether the means to so do was a flamethrower, a propane tank or a pick up truck or a firearms is immaterial at this point. Look to England- firearms are banned for the most part, so knives are common weapons, now pointy knives are being banned.
