I was too.
Happy we were wrong.
To an extent I am with momincombatboots on this one. Bumpstocks are silly, of course. However, the METHOD they were banned is GREATLY troubling.
The BATF was instructed to ignore clear written language — One trigger pull results in one round being fired — in order to declare these devices as machine guns.
Insanity, and furthermore, this sort of behavior WILL be emulated by a future Democrat administration to declare any form of firearm they wish, as a ‘machine gun’.
Now, will I abandon Pres Trump over that? No. It’s bad, very bad, but I will deal.
But there is a point where I could not continue to support him. If he signed on to Red Flag laws or a Universal Background and Registration Act, he’d lose me.
In fact he ought to really chill on any more gun control at all. He’s already beat Obama on the amount of gun control he’s caused and accepted.
Bears repeating. Donald Trump signed more gun control than Obama.
Is he a trojan horse?
Thanks, Laz. You deserve a photo of Catherine Zeta-Jones.
;^)
They defined a piece of plastic to be a machine gun.
As you say, future administrations can define anything, any way they want.
Interestingly they did nothing about binary triggers that serve the same function.
Gunmakers are in a crappy low margin business and have no profits to spare for the NRA.

Truth.
Most of them are barely hanging on, some have been through bankruptcy multiple times.
Yup.
Is he a trojan horse?
Hell naw. He made a mistake.
Planned Parenthood: a tax-funded private organization that supports the un-Constitutional deprivation of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness of preborn persons.
National Rifle Association: a donation-funded private organization that supports an actual Constitutional Right.
> Shall we all stay home in 2020 over frigging bump stocks?
I’ll still be voting for Trump.
That does not mean I have to agree with everything he says or does.
I am also free to voice an opinion. Just like you.
You are free to ignore any opinion. Just like me.
A mistake? So red flag rule proposal another mistake?
Looks more like a gun grabbers fundamental principles in action.
Whoa, slow down. There was some talk but there appears to have been no action, and it doesn’t look like there will be. If that’s his strategy, I can deal with that.
Please. Old Wayne is barely hanging on to his own people, little less influencing Trump. It was a rope-A-Dope to sucker liberals and the media, and it worked.
So we should all stay home in 2020 because of your advice and allow the dems to pack the Supreme Court and Federal Courts?
Great plan/s
So, are you saying.. go vote for a gun grabber. Have you read any articles about our stupid gop suddenly giddy over red flag rules.
They want to reinstate the assault rifle ban, now.
Trump tore the door off with the bumpstock ban and we are now being manipulated for more gun control.
This is straight from the Palestinian playbook of crying to the world criminal court.
This Republic was founded as decentralized for a reason. They must fear us. Our vote forst, and then our Other means.
Drop the veggiecburger and get some principles.
Losing the right to defend ourselves from these very same folks would nulify completely the supreme court.
We need to send a strong message from the graves of the founders... we will not go quietly into the night, even under a king.
