Washington Gov. Jay Inslee is dropping out of the 2020 presidential race, he announced Wednesday night on MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show.”
"It's become clear that I'm not going to be carrying the ball, I'm not going to be the president so I’m withdrawing tonight from the race," he told Maddow, vowing he'd help keep the other 2020 candidates focused on issue of climate change, the focal point of his campaign. "I’ve been fighting climate change for 25 years and I’ve never been so confident of the ability of America now to reach critical mass to move the ball."

He built a career on “climate change”.
The only "change" on the issue in the last few decades, has been the renaming of global-warming to climate change.
The globe is not warming, but the climate changes, for sure. Can't lose using that generality.

To answer your question...probably not.
I think he looked at te poll numbers and realized that the ONLY people who’d vote for him lived in Seattle proper, or were students at The Evergreen State College.
Now, maybe, just MAYBE, he can get back to work at being our governor.
(Although the chances of that happening are Slim and None, and Slim just left town.)
