New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and longtime girlfriend Food Network host Sandra Lee announced Wednesday they are splitting up after 14 years together.
"Over the recent past, we have realized that our lives have gone in different directions and our romantic relationship has turned into a deep friendship,” the couple said in a joint statement. “We will always be family and are fully supportive of each other and dedicated to the girls. Our personal lives remain personal and there will be no further comment."
Rumors of a breakup started last May when Lee put the home she shared with Cuomo in the New York suburbs on the market.

Much of the criticism of Lee has coalesced around a recipe for "Kwanzaa Cake" that she demonstrated on a 2003 episode of Semi-Homemade Cooking with Sandra Lee. The recipe consisted of angel food cake topped with icing, cinnamon, apple pie filling, pumpkin seeds and corn nuts (all store-bought), with seven Kwanzaa candles then inserted into the cake.
Food writer Anthony Bourdain, who was harshly critical of Lee in general, described the video clip of this segment of the show as "eye searing" and "a war crime". The cake was called "scary" by the Houston Chronicle, and "the most ghastly-sounding dish in Lee's culinary repertoire" by Tulsa World. Salon.com wrote that the video "takes pride of place in the pantheon of hilarious culinary disaster videos".

What’s comical about this relationship is that nobody knows what to call her in any official capacity. She and Andrew were never married, so her Wikipedia entry lists her as the “De Facto First Lady” of New York. You can’t make this sh!t up. LOL.

Andy's mother Matilda was a generaional Italian cook---her sauces were seasoned to perfection and simmered for hours before serving.
The story goes that short-cut Sandra Lee served Matilda spaghetti with ketchup (gag).
She was a big crimp in Andy’s political ambitions——they tried, but couldnt get the public to accept her as his live-in.
Either that or something really bad is gonna come out about Fredo’s bro, and Lee is getting out ahead of the news.
She woke up and realized he was really Fredo.
Food network stopped being about amazing talent when most of the ladies simply started their who can bare the most cleavage competition.
The guys can still cook. To be fair I watch less than 12 hours a year of food network, so I could be wrong.
Nice to see good things happening to a scumbag. Hope he decides to screw her and she turns and spills all the beans on him in the tabloids.
