Ice-worms are an actual thing. They are very common in glaciers.
Coal tar? By that time mining coal will be illegal and punishable by a several million dollar fine or death or both.
Hands down, you win!
Thanks fieldmarshaldj. They've been away from civilization for too long -- after throwing the beads, they shout, "show us your tits!"
The major problem with Leftists is that they never think things through.
LOL!
Billions of billions
Of tiny glass beads all
Imprinted with TRUMP on
One side and MAGA... make
Antarctica Great Again!!
I’m telling you now. They are hell bent on destroying the human species no matter how they have to do it. If it means destroying the food chain they will. They are fanatical extremists with absolutely no morals concerning nature and the earth, as long as they succeed in eliminating the hominid species. All else are acceptable loses and acceptable collateral damage.
Exactly. Where is the environmental impact study required before salting the earth with broken glass?
To what effect?
Blocking sunlight and other weather modification effects.
That reminds me of the loony tunes that want to spray metallic molecules into the atmosphere to cool the earth and solve the global warming problem.
No - has this been effective in limiting the alleged warming? Doesn’t seem so. And if they keep this crap up they will eventually really screw up nature.
Trying to control the earth’s climate...
God will not be mocked.
100% useless after the first snow. It did remind me of, "1000 points of light" inconsequential fluff meant to lull the gullible.
Aside: after all. these. years I’m still surprised that they haven’t named the previously unknown fault responsible for the Haiti earthquake the Bush’s Fault....
Do these beads ever break down? What happens when they end up suspended in the water. Do fish and other marine wildlife ingest them? Will they clog the gills of fish?
Scientists should show how safe they are by smashing the glass beads and eating them like wildlife would. Fair is fair.
Hm. If one is seriously interested in pursuing this subject, perhaps begin with this list of topics:
HAARP, Chemtrails, weather modification, cloud-seeding, and weather warfare.
I was using the generic term.... You know... like ‘magnifying glass’ ... I’m not as scientifically ignorant as you seem to think I am.
As to whether they would have any effect of focusing increased light (heat) on the glacier, it would depend on the focal length and orientation of any curvature of the surfaces of the beads in respect to the surface of the ice.
Of course if there was a thick enough layer of the glass beads over the long term, it would break up the light rather than focus it. And as glass is a fairly good insulator, might slow the melting.
But if you are going for insulation and reflection, a layer of Styrofoam or urethane foam with a layer of aluminum foil or metalized mylar on top would be better.
