With Congress on a two-week break, Intelligence Chair Adam Schiff kept his members in town last week, to take testimony, collect evidence, and keep the cable-news chyrons spinning in his favor. It all served as a reminder of how fast Democratic leaders want this impeachment probe to go.
"We're not fooling around here," Schiff told reporters. "We don't want this to drag on for months and months, which appears to be the administration's strategy."
The goal, Democrats say, is to vote by the Iowa caucuses, if not before Thanksgiving. But the short timeline is yet another example of the partys anxiety around the politics of impeachment. Go too fast and force on-the-fence moderates to vote with less evidence. Go too slow and risk muddling the party's election-year messaging.
With 2020 fast approaching, the go-fast gang appears to be winning out.
Theres a desire to finish as fast as possible theres no question about that, Rep. Karen Bass (D-Calif.), a member of both the Judiciary and Foreign Affairs Committees, told reporters this week. My sense of it is, obviously, it gets much more difficult when you get into the primary season. ... because then it would be easy for Trump and the Republicans to just say that this is a political effort.

You cannot dismiss the role of vote fraud in the California political landscape. The DemocRAT machine is powerful in CA and managed to overturn several elections in CA by fraudulent means in the midterms. They have been doing this for decades.
For the longest time, Californians would vote conservatively on propositions, but the liberal politicians would somehow win. I look at this as evidence that vote fraud is responsible. There is no need to use fraud to overturn the propositions, since the fraudulently elected politicians just appoint judges to void the propositions. This happened with the proposition in the 1990s to disallow illegal alien kids from being enrolled in public schools at taxpayer expense. This disconnect between voting conservatively on propositions is shrinking, however, as the state is driving out conservative citizens and replacing them with the illegal aliens that leftist politicians are increasingly using as their power base.
Not in Red states, if they want to retain their seats in congress. Mention impeachment in Red Zones and you won’t go far. Memphis, Nashville, Knoxville are Blue zones Spots in Tennessee. Rest of State is RED.
I think they are afraid of two or so appointments to SCOTUS next year and are doing this for at least in part to de-ligitimize Trump’s appointments before the fact and maybe create an election strategy based around that.
They have to work fast. The news cycle is moving down the tracks and the Ukraine story is disintegrating.
The dems want to forego all votes and just declare him Impeached.
Deep state at its finest.
“Thought exercise: What form of execution will cause his eyes to pop out beyond where they already have.”
Hanging without the hood on.
All this is being done to discredit the FISA abuse report that is going to drop soon. Everyone involved in it is coming forward and seeking protection using the whistle blower statute as a form of immunity.
Gee if they succeed on impeaching Pres. Trump and then impeach VPres. Pence for aiding Pres. Trump’s coverup I wonder who will then be President.
The President will be an 80 year old bat from San Francisco.
They wouldn’t be doing this if they didn’t already know he’s won 2020.
Really? clever on their part. Where did you hear that?
That would make a CIA-agent-with-second-hand-hearsay’s request for whistleblower status, clearer.
So the pubbies, if they’re smart, big if, will investigate everyone who requests whistleblower status for FISA abuse.
This couldn’t get easier.
But pubbies are famous for their rinoism/cowardice.
I wonder if that is why all of a sudden she backed impeachment.
Impeach him for what? What are the charges?!
