...”numerous measures of social decline are rising as religion recedes from public life...”

This applies to ALL. Even those raised in a non religious or non practicing household were still raised by the values of their parents households and/or current societal values which were born of religious values.

Start removing those values and sin replaces them. Like a cancer it has spread throughout society.

Barr is absolutely CORRECT!

““This is not decay,” “This is organized destruction. Secularists and their allies have marshaled all the forces of mass communication, popular culture, the entertainment industry, and academia in an unremitting assault on religion and traditional values.”

“...religion and traditional values.””

Religion (faith in, and worship of, God) IS a traditional value.

Congress needs to investigate these sorts of public outbursts from government officials.

Impeach Barr!

I agree, we in fact are in serious decline as a society because we lack a moral compass.

But, that being said, it does little good for Barr to make these statements.
1. He is not an elected official and doj officials should not use their office to promote their moral positions. I and most here wouldn’t like it if a leftist AG pushed LGBT rights as a moral position. Let’s not set a stupid precedent here.
2. Of course barr needs to defend religious liberty. That should go without saying. Take your cases to court and win. That says a lot more that hot air.
3. He has to realize that law enforcement cannot change a person’s morality, that is for parents and pastors. If he really believes that, he is seriously misguided. Does he actually believe that more prisons will cure drug addiction or suicides?

This guy is a globalist in sheep’s clothing and he needs to go.

Organized takeover of our educational system by how much starting in the 1920s and 30s, USSR to undermine United States and England from within. The first generation were just a few hundred academics, but they spread their influence quickly among those going into government and journalism, and the next generation of teachers. The 1960s were the first real flowering of what they sell union tried to do, which damn near resulted in attempted violent revolution against our government. Many of the people who were children in the 60s and 70s and educated by 2nd generation radicals are now at when your pinnacle of power - Obama being THE prime example.

Re things we now take for granted, I recently saw a family letter written in the 1940's, where the wife who authored the letter lamented that she couldn't start writing the letter sooner because her husband had the pen the previous day.

Our top cop is a good man. It’s been a long time.

He declined to prosecute McCabe and that tall weasel of a former FBI director whose name escapes me at the moment.

Barr has said little and done nothing. That is not the mark of a good man. That is the mark of a typical D.C. status quo punk.

It was a wonderful life
We were not spoiled. My friends and I had part time jobs in high school and college. We mowed our parents lawns. Shoveled. Raked leaves. No landscapers. One car in the family. We rode bikes. Walked 1.5 each way to school. We were not spoiled.

My dad dropped out of City college age 17 in 1935. He said it was full of Reds and communists.

Bill Barr certainly does say the right things.

As far as doing things, it's still TBD.

He’s right. Nothing new about this. We were warned during the planting season what was going to grow here:
"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life.
If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."
~ Joseph Stalin?
What was planted has now matured into a crop ready for harvest.
"The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism.
But under the name of "liberalism" they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program,
until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened."
--Norman Thomas, longtime U.S. Socialist Presidential candidate
This effort has been here for a long time. It’s not a new thing. It’s just new to the uniformed and the willfully ignorant.
Communist Goals (1963)

Congressional Record--Appendix, pp. A34-A35 January 10, 1963
EXTENSION OF REMARKS OF HON. A. S. HERLONG, JR. OF FLORIDA IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
Thursday, January 10, 1963

Mr. HERLONG. Mr. Speaker, Mrs. Patricia Nordman of De Land, Fla., is an ardent and articulate opponent of communism, and until recently published the De Land Courier, which she dedicated to the purpose of alerting the public to the dangers of communism in America.

At Mrs. Nordman's request, I include in the RECORD, under unanimous consent, the following "Current Communist Goals," which she identifies as an excerpt from The Naked Communist, by Cleon Skousen:

12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.

13. Do away with all loyalty oaths.

15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.

16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.

17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

18. Gain control of all student newspapers.

19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.

20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policymaking positions.

21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.

22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms."

23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. "Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art."

24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.

25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.

26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."

27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a "religious crutch." 28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state."

29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.

30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."

31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the "big picture." Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.

32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture--education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.

There are more on the list, but these will show how and why our world has changed from 1963 America when these were read to Congress.

Psych warfare here against US is real and McCarthy was right.

However, the enemy is far more savvy, experienced and patient than he was or we are.

Not by today’s standard no. But by our parents’ standards we probably were. My dad told me (he tended to exaggerate) that an orange in the Christmas stocking was a big deal. He was one of 4 brothers. Maybe a toy or two. My Christmases (only child) were a bonanza in comparison. I think that because our parents pretty much went without, they splurged on us—not our fault. But we got to grow up in a time of plenty and for most of them, they didn’t.

But for those who didn’t get to experience the 50s, they were pretty nice.

My dad grew up in poverty during the depression

Because we owned our home and had food on table and sent their kids to college does not make us spoiled.

Ok, how about this. Our childhoods were ‘easier’ than our parents’. Not to say better because if my dad was to be believed kids in his day seemed to have a lot more fun than we did in the 50s. A lot of stuff that would have gotten us jailed. He grew up in a small town in Idaho. His younger brother burned down the house because of some experiments with nitroglycerin.

Today, people living in ‘poverty’ in America live like kings compared to the poverty of the 20s and 30s. While there are people hungry, no one needs to be hungry today.

When I say we or I’ll say I, was spoiled, it is only in comparison to the generation that came before. They had to work harder to get what they wanted than I have done. Compared to today’s kids, we had it pretty rough. They are worried about a theoretical climate change, we got to worry about nuclear war. We were expected to have summer and after school jobs. They spend 6 years getting a degree in gender studies and live in their parents’ basements.

Oh well, it’s an age-old complaint—”Today’s kids are soft, weak and rotten”.

I honor President Reagan, but he did do that.

I recognize we cannot have perfection, so I have to take that bad with all the good he did.

A lot of us forget that about RR.

I agree 100%. Our lives were easier than our parents generation and I will add because of their sacrifices. God do I miss them.

Yes I remember the air raid drills in school 1950s.

...deny God and insist that Man can make his own Eden.

That man-made Eden is also a man-made hell where all but a select few are consigned. (The enlightened always excuse themselves)

God's hell will only contain the truly deserving -- all who die in their sins, unforgiven.
