Unusual weather patterns in the upper atmosphere over Antarctica have caused a drastic reduction in ozone depletion, leaving the ozone with the smallest hole seen since its discovery in 1982, according to NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
The government agencies said that the hole had shrunk to 3.9 million square miles for the remainder of September and October, according to satellite data. The peak in the hole was 6.3 million square miles, observed on Sept. 8. During normal weather conditions, the hole is usually around 8 million square miles during this time of year.

Someone should tell them that CFCs still very much exist....just in nations these people dont care to admit exist.

It’s hilarious to watch the chicken little set scamper this way and that looking for something else to be frightened of, reasoned or not.
We hear about killer asteroids, Ozone Holes, Super Solar Flares, Killer Tsunamis, Climate change, Cities sinking below the surface of the ocean, an enormous Jellystone eruption, plastic straws...
Is there a physiological explanation for this constant fear, and the absolute need to keep the public panicked, or is it just Leftism 101?

The doom and gloom didn’t happen, because we stopped producing and releasing CFC’s into the atmosphere... Some still are being produced in third world countries, but global levels nowhere near the levels they were decades ago.
CFC’s were believed to not be able to be broken down by natural processes... but in the 70s they discovered that ultraviolet light in the stratosphere did indeed break them down, releasing their chlorine atoms, which, would then steal an O atom from O3 (ozone) creating aa CO molecule, and a standard O2 Molecule... Then when that CO molecule finds another stray O atom, the O atom takes the O atom from the CO molecule , creating a C atom and an O2 Molecule, and the C atom swipes another O atom from an O3 .. and the cycle repeats.
This isn’t conjecture, or even a hypothesis, this is proven, and basic chemistry. Reducing the release of these molecules into the atmosphere was a very very good thing.
CFCs don’t cause the Ozone “hole”.
The ozone hole HAS to exist and ALWAYS Has for seasons to change correctly!
It was just another sky is falling hoax!

Yeah, and they think they measured it accurately for about 30 years and came to the conclusion that it was growing, and even the reason for it. On a 5 billion year old planet, with 30 years of measurement, they were able to determine a trend. These guys are good.
