The gubernatorial candidates are both tied at 47 percent in the new poll, which appears to be the first out since the primary election last weekend.

BATON ROUGE, La. — A new poll is giving the first glimpse of how the Nov. 16 race for the Louisiana governor's mansion could play out.

The poll by We Ask America appears to be the first publicly-released post-primary poll of the Louisiana gubernatorial race, where incumbent [Democrat] John Bel Edwards faces off against Republican businessman Eddie Rispone.

Further in the article, there is a tweet from President Trump about this...

When I was out today, I saw lots of Eddie Rispone yard signs and not any I can remember for Democrat John Bel Edwards.

Eddie Rispone's 'claim to fame' is that he built a company from scratch that does $350 million in business.

The only negative I have about Rispone is that he attacked a fellow Republican during the primary.

However, Eddie Rispone comes across as a genuine person who prays and believe in God - a true Christian.

His opponent does not come across as a Christian...

Louisiana Republicans who stay home elect Democrats! It’s as simple as that.

The half million bums, drunks and criminals you refer to are from out of town. They come to New Orleans from places like where you live. Could be friends and neighbors of yours. The police keep these animals mostly corralled in the French Quarter where they publicly drink, get drunk, fornicate and puke and urinate all over the streets. Not very nice people. After their stay here they go back to wherever they are from. Could be your city.

No, they’re not lol.

The city of New Orleans is NOT comprised of tourists in the French Quarter.

Yea, uh, no. We saw New Orleans in Katrina. And, I think i may have counted a half million of your bums and criminals on TV. NO is a shithole with a legacy of lazy, shiftless, scofflaws. Stay there. You fit in.

Katrina was a TV show. You have no clue what really went on here.

People like you will never get New Orleans. Frankly, I’m fine with that.
