Rev. Bryan Fulwider, a former Winter Park minister who was recently arrested on charges that he repeatedly raped a teenage girl while he was her pastor, killed himself at his Altamonte Springs home, according to police.
Emergency crews were called to Fulwiders home in the 600 block of Post Oak Circle about 11:50 p.m. Sunday for a possible suicide. Fulwider was pronounced dead there, ASPD spokeswoman Michelle Sosa said.
Fulwider, 59, had been out on bail since Oct. 17. The former 'Friends Talking Faith co-host faced a slew of charges including sexual battery on a minor by a person in custodial authority. He could have faced life in prison, if convicted. He had pleaded not guilty.
The Medical Examiners Office for Seminole County ruled the death a suicide, their records show.
The woman who had accused Fulwider of sexually abusing her for years said on Monday that she was not shocked by his suicide, and thanked the Winter Park Police Department for its work on the case and belief in victims.
Fulwiders day in court will never come because he knew all the truths I could tell, the woman wrote in a statement, shared with the Sentinel on the condition of anonymity. My story doesnt stop with his cowardice through; I will work in the coming months to get justice for myself and any other victims impacted by Fulwiders abuse.
Im thinking of Fulwiders other victims and hope they are well tonight, she wrote. The Sentinel does not typically identify victims of child sex abuse. Fulwider had not been accused by police of abusing anyone else at the time of his death, though WPPD said detectives were investigating whether there could be additional victims.

One time a good while ago, going to church was working for me. It was nice. It made me feel good during some hard times.
Then the priest tried to give me an open mouthed kiss one day.
That was the last time I attended church that was not associated with a funeral.
“Then they should get the records and do a forensic examination...”
I’m pretty sure that would violate patient confidentiality and medical records laws.
Not defending Jimmys adultery, however his squeeze was Not a minor. She was A consenting female. Big difference! Oh, and she was a she!
He does not represent Christianity. Not going to church is not Biblical.
I know that he doesn’t, and it’s going to have to be cleaned out before I go back.
I can’t deal with that type of stuff.
Extra fulsome praise if there happened to be a terminated pregnancy as well.
Scumbag.
It's every bit as common, friend -- and probably moreso. It just doesn't get the same type of publicity for obvious reasons.
Sure, keep telling yourself and each other that...
Southern Baptist Convention: More than 200 ministers, deacons and others have been found guilty of sex abuse, report says
FOUND guilty...How many Catholic priest have NOT been found guilty because they get shifted around the world and who knows how many victims were paid off by your Church without charges being filed???
Here it says two hundred ministers...Shoot, one Catholic bishop alone may have and has had 200 victims...Let's count the number of victims as well as the perpetrators...
Those 200 Protestant incidents were classified as sexual misconduct, with victims of all ages...The Catholic victims are all children and almost always boys...
Nice to be able to put a face to the idiots voice.
This radio show the deceased did with a rabbi and an imam was a total bag of bull manure.
I think the dude was a ChrINO (Christian in name only)..... like 0bama ...
That’s awful. Don’t blame you.
My turnoff from church was working at one. Saw how the sausage was made.
Matt 7:15
Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.
I will ask again, Why didn’t the victim come forward after the first rape? Her fear, I can understand, but 100+ times? I am not supporting the perpetrator but I have a problem with the victim’s delay in reporting the crimes.
If you are looking for a perfect church you better not go since you would ruin it. That is the biggest cop out ever. I won’t go until there are no sinners in the church. That is like I won’t go to a hospital until there are no sick people.
You need to go to church to get fed by the Word and a pastor who has spent his life learning God’s word. Are you saved?
You cannot judge the entire church by one bad event. The church is full of sinners which we need to go and learn the Word. No wonder the world is messed up.
It wasn’t just one event. I’ve had several incidents with gay priests, although the one I described was by far the worst.
I mean honestly, it all started when I was 7, and the Catholic school that I attended protected the pedophile husband of the after school lady that all the children were bused to after school. They protected him, continued to send children to him.
So you could say that i have a bit of a personal bugaboo with stuff like this.
But even after stopping church attendance, I have unfortunately met several other people who I would describe as overtly religious, and as you said, they are definitely sinners.
And the one that is the most pious, wears religion as a disguise, and praises the Lord’s name as often as humanly possible, is a disgusting sexual predator on young learning disabled girls that he manages to get into his religious based program for troubled young people.
Sadly the sum of this has made me cynical to religion, but it has not made me an atheist at all. I’ve just had to go my own way from these people.
That’s the problem! He did not believe in judgment. He was in it for the access to young women
the accusation was being investigated. He had already stated that he was not guilty. This act only gives the appearance of guilt and adds credence to her accusation.
Find a good Bible studying church. Lone wolves get eaten in this world which is why you need to meet with fellow believers.
Churches are full of sinners just like you but Jesus forgives us of our sins.
FAR more common in prostant circles, but their denominations are not involved unlike Catholics who have ties clear back to the Vatican.
this has to do with individual people...NOTHING to do with their religions....
