A “religious commissar and a general sharia judge”? What? Don’t these people realize that al-Qaeda and the Islamic State (ISIS) have nothing whatsoever to do with Islam? Pope Francis should head to Iraq now to explain their peaceful religion to al-Baghdadi and Qardash.

ISIS’s new leader is believed to be a former officer in Saddam Hussein’s military who forged an alliance with al-Baghdadi in prison before becoming his enforcer and chief policymaker.
Abdullah Qardash – nicknamed The Professor or The Destroyer because of his reputation as a brutal legislator – is known as a cruel but popular figure among the ISIS rank-and-file.
According to a statement by Amaq, ISIS’s press agency, Baghdadi appointed Qardash to run the group’s day-to-day operations in August this year, making him the heir-apparent after his former boss killed himself during a raid by US forces in Syria at the weekend.
However, with the so-called Caliphate now split into independent cells spread across at least two countries, it is far from clear that Qardash will be able to retain full control over the group.
Two other figures – Tunisian Abu Othman al-Tunsi and Saudi Abu Saleh al-Juzrawi – have also been named by experts as likely contenders.
Qardash – also known as Hajji Abdullah al-Afari – was born in Tal Afar, a Sunni-majority town in Iraq – before joining the military while Saddam Hussein ruled the country.
Following the invasion of Iraq by the US in 2003 and President Bush’s move to disband the country’s military, he found himself locked in jail accused of having links to al-Qaeda.
Languishing in a cell at Camp Bucca, Qardash formed a close bond with Baghdadi, who was then fomenting the extremist religious code that would provide the ideological grounding for the death cult that became ISIS.
After his release Qardash served as a religious commissar and a general sharia judge for al-Qaeda, according to researchers at the S. Rajartnam School of International Studies in Singapore

The article you read inferred as much but if you read it carefully it was at best ambiguous.
And, as it turned out, wrong.

Proof of what you posit please
Below is an extract from a CBS News article that is typical of what has been reported. It accurately quotes Trump stating that the #1 replacement for al-Baghdadi had been killed.
BUT HE DOESN’t NAME THAT PERSON.
Later in the article you see that it was Al-Baghdadi’s SPOKESMAN who was killed. The Kurds have confirmed that and his name is correctly given in the article.
So far, so good.
What Trump’s statement and the article fails to note is that al-Baghdadi had the man I believe was his real #1 replacement performing his duties while he was in hiding. That man is still alive, is the real #1 guy and is now running ISIS. And he took over immediately after al-Baghdadi’s death.
You can argue that the Spokesman is more important that the man actually running ISIS day to day if you like. That is certainly a fair criticism of my post. As is my failure to name this guy. Too late for me to track it down but his name will come out soon if I am right.
And I may turn out to be wrong. I don’t think so. Time will Tell.

These facts are being avoided when MSM reports and media portrays a Moslem cleric as a saint. Those facts are; The cleric was following their book of God’s commands one of which orders beheading unbelievers and chopping their heads off. So by US stopping that cleric who dies when doing so. That makes him a hero and a saint.
When the Pope thinks when dealing with moslems whatever they believe and do it’s OK He’s never commented anything about the horrors in that book and some claim even kissed that book and praises them because they believe in the same God. Following the Popes lead We shouldn’t expect any different facts and viewpoint from the lefty media.
One reason why challenging Islam being a totalitarian conformist theocracracy and not simply a belief system commonly called religion argument hasn’t gone far is because of Pope Francis .
Beside his continuing social engineering pontificating. It’s has been Pope Francis attempts to equalize the mono theistic claims that Islam honors the same deity.as those in the judeo /Christian tradition. Is only encouraging the continuing attacks and murders of African and Asian Catholics as well as attacks elsewhere and destruction of churches by Islamic followers.
This Pope by decrying the sale and use of arms which Christian’s could use to defend themselves or warn the faithful not to proselytize or be “fundamental” to discourage conversions was probably met with cheers and laughter by Islamists because they appear to support Islam’s mono theistic claims.
Which is the way Islamists interpret the Pope’s remarks. Seemingly supported by Francis’s refusal to condemn or refute when those theological Islamic claims authorizing murder, deceit and deceptions are used while committing these atrocities becomes the unintended result..
And the left will unleash a tide anti-war protests because American soldiers overwhelmingly worship the God of the Jews or Jesus.
