Does Battle Creek, MI ring a bell?
Kellogg became a pagan and, to the best of my knowledge, never repented of his abandonment of Christianity.
Yes and yes. No man is justified by the law. The just shall live by faith. Unequivocally.
That being said - the local SDA would not offer my Anglican Parish a place to worship once they discovered that we would being wine on the property for sacramental use.
Ive worked with one of these cult members and he was an oddball to say the least...his big thing was not being able to do anything from sundown on fri. To sundown on sat.....got his religious exemption from forced work on sat. And he believed I was the devil for being Roman Catholic.... OB
It doesnt matter which day is the sabbath only that there is one and the frequency is seven days. Getting bogged down in debates about which day is the sabbath or whether you spell God with or without the o, that is the devil at work dividing good people from each other. God probably doesnt care if you pray to him slash her by saying how great you are, God. God knows how great he slash she is and doesnt really need to be told. Personally I think God wants us to appreciate the good things around us and the gifts we have and wants us to be nice and helpful to each other. Anything beyond that is from the mouth of the devil.
Do you believe they had the right to do this? To deny usage based upon religious convictions? Are you also in favor of making doctors, nurses and hospitals being forced to do abortions though it violates their beliefs?
Are you, personally, a cult? I would venture to say that every person or organization believes certain things to be true (or at least their interpretation thereof) and additionally believes that others who do not agree are wrong. The word “cult” has been long-abused for the purpose of attempting to discredit those we disagree with without having to resort to a protracted debate. Just like the word “conspiracy”.
Well, it doesn't matter to you. Perhaps it matters to God. That's why it's included in the Ten Options Commandments.
According to Archie Bunker, Seven-Day Adventurers.
“They believe the doctrine of soul sleeping, which states that the souls of believers in Christ are not in heaven, but are sleeping in the graves. The Bible says those who were saved on earth by receiving Jesus Christ as their Saviour and died are now living a full and joyous life in heaven. Revelation 7:9-17”
The author doesn’t realize that most of Revelation is a prophecy of future events? Also, that chapter is only speaking of the 144,000 “elect”. It doesn’t say anything about the general matter of people who die in a state of grace.
They would fit the strictest definition IF they believed one had to believe in Ellen G. White. She was an extraordinary writer but hardly infallible. The Bible teaches us to believe in God and His Word.
Yes, they are amongst the longest lived people in the world. All are vegetarian, most are vegan. I read up on them extensively.
A. I’m Pro-Life. Doctors should not be forced. Did I give you the impression that they shoud? B. It’s their building. C. I’ll never understand the appeal of being a member of the SDAs.
Okay the Satanists asks your pastor to perform a black mass in your church when it's not in use. What would the answer be?
C. Ill never understand the appeal of being a member of the SDAs.
That's easy. Don't become one.
I’m the Priest of the church. I like bacon way too much to join.
Jesus fasted to overcome the temptations of this world. He never ate bacon (against His religion). Based on this I would surmise no bacon eating in Heaven as well. Enjoy your bacon.
Im not an SDA, but Ive been listening to their local radio stations programs on diet and health and talking about God, Scripture and what they believe.
Yes, they believe that the Sabbath is Saturday and the 4th Commandment is not an option. There is nothing in the Bible that counters this understanding.
They are also very hard on the Catholic Church for changing the Sabbath to Sunday and, like many other Protestant denominations, seem to view the Catholic Church as the whore of Babylon.
I tune them out when the program or speaker goes off on the Church. Im not into that.
But, they are hard core followers and analyzers of the Bible who live what they believe and offer it to others for free.
And I think they are right about the Saturday Sabbath and how to feed and take care of the human body.
“full of stuff that I dont recognize from my limited personal experience with the SDA...”
Well, maybe people who actually research this stuff know more about it than you get from casually listening to a radio show?
Nothing I see in the article is actually incorrect as it pertains to their beliefs or history.
“Are you, personally, a cult?”
Got to have at least 2 people to have a cult. Otherwise there is nobody for the cult leader to dominate.
Maybe if you have multiple personalities it could work.
