The small but mighty personal pronoun “they” has been declared the 2019 Word of the Year by Merriam-Webster, officials announced Tuesday.

“They” won the top spot on the annual, data-driven list after receiving a 313-percent search increase on the dictionary publisher’s website in comparison with 2018, the Associated Press reports.

In September, Merriam-Webster expanded the definition of “they” as relating to a person whose gender identity is non-binary. Weeks later, the American Psychological Association recognized “they” as a singular third-person pronoun in its latest scholarly writing style guide.

Somebody needs to ask Joe “how many genders” Biden to discuss this. ;-)

The left’s long march through the institutions—everything they touch turns into another propaganda zombie.

But of course! We need to pander to the “LGBT” etc. crowd, and we need to push out there, the notion that it is bigoted to assume that someone is either male or female.

What an outrage, for people to think that we are all either male or female!

Considering that there are over 50 gender identities discovered so far, of course these people want to use “they” as an all inclusive pronoun, which does not presume that someone is a male or a female. It makes sense in their liberal world.

My childhood misuse of the word “they” is now formalized. Now for “ain’t”.

I don’t accept it as a legitimate choice.
I haven’t decided what I’ll do the first time someone asks me to use that term when addressing them.
I will probably just not use any such term at all. Just talk.

Sort of like, there are people I know, but have forgotten their names. When I see someone like that, I just won’t use their names. I’ll just begin the conversation. At some point, it becomes embarrassing to ask, ‘What’s your name, again?”

Well, so much for the credibility of the American Psychological Association. They will now receive only ridicule. Actually the ages-old stereotype of the nutty shrink becomes more apt with the times.

Great! Let's celebrate THEY:

THE Y

Real men. There's no escape, try as "they" might.

Let’s see how this works.

Normal English: She is my sister.

If sister doesn’t know anymore if she is female: They is my sibling. Or would it be, They are my sibling?

Idiocy.

They is my sibling.

Not to sound racist or anything, but doesn't that sound a little like Ebonics???

Merriam-Webster has been pushing how “woke” it is for some time now.
