Well said. They should not have any recess for the holidays. And if it takes their entire break, well too bad! They will just have to continue working until their next break. We pay these people an awful lot of money (besides the money that they get in laundering) and they have done nothing for the past 3 years. I wouldn’t be surprised if these criminals vote themselves a pay raise in the next few months.

Yes. Whether the Dems are in the minority or majority they ALWAYS seem to have the power and control. Republicans always are a day late, surprised by the “plan A, B. C, bad at messaging, they cave, have backstabbers, etc.

What they were able to do to Kavanaugh, drag him through the mud, false accusations they couldn’t prove. For them doesn’t matter if they can prove it- they have the media and they run the message over and over. Once you ruin someone’s reputation it is hard to get back. Look at Clarence Thomas after all these years.

I am among the millions of conservatives that would love to see the Senate take out its revenge on the dems. However, holding a long drawn out trial is not the way. Having witnesses is a very dangerous game. Bad things can happen. During the Nixon impeachment investigation, a mid level White House staffer was asked how he could remember so much. His answer will live in infamy, “..because we record everything that is said in the White House.” That lead the the “tapes” being released sealing Nixon’s fate. We must careful what we wish for. End the impeachment as fast as possible than open Senate investigations on ________________(fill in the blank)

Nothing requires the Senate to take up the issue.

I’m looking at Thomas and I see one of the most respected members of the SC. He has been an invaluable asset to Conservatives and remains a very unique man unable to be cowed or swayed. His recent TV interview was riveting.

I’m looking at Kavanaugh and I see a very respected SC Justice who is on track to have decades to function as a Constitutionalist. What he went through to get confirmed was unfair, partisan, wounding but it’s in the past. Hopefully he will remember what he learned about leftist liars.

Don’t know what you see but I see a bunch of ninnies who threw hissy fits, made fools of themselves and when the music stopped they were the big time losers.

if Trump does not toe the line they will pull the trigger.

If that's their way of thinking, they are dumbing than anyone could have ever guessed. Trying to tame Trump would be like trying to sit and pet a rabid dog, and I have to believe that McConnell knows that. If the Senate attempts to throw Trump under the bus, it will likely be a full-on war with Trump being the B-52 with a full payload. Time and again, he's proven he's the master of social media, with a very strong support base to boot.

I suggest:

Dear Honorable Speaker Nancy Pelosi:

The impeachment trial of President Donald J. Trump that the House has requested will start Tuesday, January 7, 2020, 9am. Please be fully prepared to present and prosecute the case of the House of Representatives at that time.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,

Mitch

Nancy is quite insane

Always like your posts, but this one could be pushing the limits of excited hyperbole.

LS has pointed out that the House leadership is being advised by Tribe and other constitutional law experts in crafting their overall "lawfare" game plan. We've seen it in action for the past 3 years now, what with the left's federal district judge shopping and the issuance of nation-wide injunctions. So, let's assume the House is actually pursuing this impeachment matter fully conscious as **to their best possible advantage**.

For example, consider Bastogne - it was the Nazis best, last ditch effort. It wasn't ill thought out or rushed; it was planned, deliberate and intended to deliver victory. Problem was, even with their best efforts, the Nazis still lost on a match-up basis.

So, if we assume the left is actually thinking through this shampeachment process clearly and deliberately, using all available resources/assets (media, base, etc) to their best possible advantage, then ... what does that tell us that even so, it's failing quite badly? IOW, Pelosi isn't crazy, she's just like the German generals who knew it was all over, but still had to go through the motions. (While secretly getting their travel plans ready for Paraguay.)

I think from any rationale perspective, the high water mark in the anti-Trump campaign was reached when the final vote was cast last night. From now on, it's all downhill. Trump has been fighting by himself, but now, as when Japan brought the US into the war, Mitch is now engaged. While it might be sort of surreal actually living through this time, image how historians are going to struggle attempting to explain what happened to future generations. LOL

Mitch should just schedule a hearing. If they don’t show up dismiss all charges. Shows over.

Oh, please.

You’re always delusional. This farce impeachment will in no way control Trump.

What federal law, or what part of the Constitution, requires the House "transmit" the articles of impeachment to the Senate before the Senate can do their part?

The House made their rules for this fraud...the Senate can now make their rules to respond.

The "articles of impeachment" are on the WWW on the House website...for all the world to see.

No need to wait on the House.

Republican leadership in the Senate has an aid print off the articles...then conduct their business.

The BS about "Obstruction of Congress" could apply to a President vetoes a bill thereby making an enumerated power an impeachable offense. By bring that charge they've already wiped their collective butts on the Constitution what's so surprising about them trying to dictate to the Senate?

The President has just been "impeached" by the House for being elected President. Everything else is, "what hubris".

All Mitch has to do is to set a date.

The TV cameras will be rolling at that time.

The Democrats have to show up and play ball.

“president bragging he was going to win the whole thing by ‘default.’”

I wouldn’t want to win anything by default. I’d want to win ‘cause I was right.

"The BS about "Obstruction of Congress" could apply to a President vetoes a bill thereby making an enumerated power an impeachable offense"

This is an excellent point! Well done.

This need to be stated, repeated, by every single (R) in the Senate when it's their turn to speak on the issue.
