Does he get a free ticket home or will he have to use those frequent flyer miles?

Dennis was a politician from his first day at Boeing. He was obsessed with climbing the corporate ladder so all he did was play politics. He nearly destroyed Boeing in the process.

Move the headquarters to the same building as the engineering department.

Just a suggestion.

Saw what seemed like a summary of the problem: The 787 MAX was different enough in behavior than other 737s that Boeing should have and didn’t provide the necessary pilot training.

It appears that no customers have cancelled orders for the plane.

That’s not a Starliner, it’s an Apollo capsule.

Too early. I heard in Russia they are discussing a ban on export of titanium to US and to sanction their companies from Boeing’s trade. That could halt 777 and 787 production for at least 11 months and would cost Boeing billions to replace Russian imports. On top of Max troubles probably it would be the last straw.

This move is way too late.

After the 737Max and the Starliner screw up, someone has to be sent packing. The CEO is the top choice, but it is a culture issue I suspect internally at Boeing. They need to get lean and mean, and smarter.
I’d start with getting a really clear look at the Engineering side. Going to be hard, because if they are “protected quota people” they can’t be canned.
You should do a blind ranking of the teams and cull out folks. I’m afraid you can’t actually do this anymore without the Racist and Sexist lawsuits.
