Well, I tried calling their help service and they immediately transferred me to someone in India named "Steve". "Have you tried rebooting?" he said. I rebooted about twice with him on the line, and when it didn't help I was put on eternal hold.
Microsoft, so I've heard, used to outsource to India, and give their underskilled technicians friendly American names, even though they could barely speak English and had heavy Indian accents.
