What is an environmental justice community?
Not sure, but they would include gulags.
Or a gulag.
2050 is not that far off. Liberals always think the near future will bring incredible miracles. The truth is progress is a lot harder and slower than an impatient liberal would like.
Communities. Blech. Stupid word.
Every advocate thereof should be grilled about whether they have completely converted their lifestyle to 100% “clean” (by their stated standards).
I’ve been dabbling in such for a few years (as a matter of off-grid independence, conservation (as a Conservative), and as sociopolitical experiment).
There is no reason why these people can’t “go green/clean” approaching 100% by next month. The technology is available & affordable.
If they DON’T already live most of what they preach, they need be shouted down as hypocrites.
Every d@mn one of them can buy an EV, power via utility or home solar, pick up small organic farm produce in person (by EV, avoiding ICE transport), telecommute, and minimize plastics use. No excuses.
This is ultimately what they’re asking/demanding/compelling everyone else to do, and nothing stops them from doing so, both as obligation & example, in short order. If everyone chose to do what advocates insist all others do, the legislation would be unnecessary - so start proving & normalizing it already.
Per #6, those for whom technology is magic* often fail to grasp that just because something is individually available doesn’t mean everyone can make the transition in short order. It is precisely the _individual_ choice to convert which makes mass transition possible thru supply-and-demand; without that choice (not compulsory) the supply-and-demand process doesn’t work.
(”Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” Smartphones and solar panels are nothing more than scrying-magic glass slates to them.)
These people are trying to kill us.
Just plant more trees.
Research this stuff back far enough and you'll find the "professional community organizers" (commies) and thugs like George Soros ... insane control freaks.
The goal is to fool gullible members of the press and the bimbos and pretentious men of MSNBC. Which so far hasn't been to difficult to do...
A Freeper has a great tagline. “The curse of the intelligent is watching morons try everything that doesn’t work”.
Not to bust on you but even the Germans say EVs are more polluting the diesel car equivalents by far.
Depends on fuel sourcing. Depends on what pollution control measures are applied. Some pollution is just a stage while demand grows enough to warrant a supply of better.
Were these “clean advocates” to take on what they demand of others, they may finally discover that “clean” isn’t nearly as much so as they expect.
Be they right or wrong, pious or deluded, if they won’t live how they demand all others do, they’re a bunch of hypocrites who have no business pestering others.
I agree with your premise for sure. Where I diverge is when the complete life cycle is factored.
