While standing proud and victorious at the podium. It would have been much more effective IF they had voted to acquit BEFORE the State of the Union Address. Now some of the foolish “Republicans” might consider that unpresidential and change their vote. Oh the whacked out world we live in now.

The only remedy would be a spending limitation amendment. With term limit teeth. You overspent last year? You don’t qualify for reelection.
And what is the criterion for “overspent?” You cannot spend more than you took in last year.
I repeat, a “balanced budget” criterion which admits the possibility that tax increases are the cure for all ills is no solution at all.
Oh, and while you’re at it, change the annual income tax filing date to October 15. And limit withholding so that everyone notices their tax bill.
Even if they do most wouldn’t care.
To be fair, these people may have worked 50 years and would have had a Lot more had they invested the 6 percent a week.
Increase the retirement age and gradually phase it out for the young.
But that will never happen.
Yep. No different than it was when my ancestors settled here 150 years ago. Back then, ‘critters given free range’ would also stop by, visit, and swipe a cow or two.

Who says that a spending limitation can't be in the same amendment? I'd like to see it limit the income tax , cut speeding until not only the National debt is gone but the income tax is no longer needed. Then end the Income Tax! The federal beast is the monster it is today because the income tax, among other sources of loot ,feeds the Federal beast all too well.
