KENT, Ohio (WKBN) – Kent State University is finalizing its plans to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the May 4 shootings that killed four students in 1970.
Activist and actress Jane Fonda will be the featured speaker on May 3.
The event is free and open to the public, but you will need a ticket to get in.
Fonda was there once before for a May 4th memorial in 1974.
A number of other events will be held the weekend of May 1-4.
Markers will be dedicated to honor the nine students hurt in the National Guard attack.
Sandra Scheuer, of Boardman, was killed in the protest.

I have said this for decades:
Jane Fonda better be buried in a private cemetery or have her ashes scattered somewhere because the line of people waiting to piss on her grave will stretch into the next county.

I joined the Army in summer 1970 with Vietnam looming (went as a chopper pilot). In my opinion there was plenty of blame to go around at Kent State; violent rioting know-nothings versus armed Guardsmen with no civil disturbance training. It eventually faded into distant memory.
But thanks to this evil traitor hag and today’s feckless college administrators, it all comes boiling back again!!

I saw her in 1974 when she was there with Tom Hayden. We came from another college in Pennsylvania and were staying in a coed dorm they called the Center for Peaceful Change. I was in the bathroom at the urinal when a girl in a brown pantsuit came in. Since most people were in jeans she stood out. I figured she was a Senior or a Grad student. Anyway she unzipped her pantsuit and sat down in the stall behind me. She was friendly and not the least bit bashful (the stalls had no doors). We just exchanged a few pleasantries and I went on my way. It wasn’t until I saw her introduced as a speaker that I realized who she was.
