TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — It’s possible to get infected by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) a second time, according to doctors on the frontline in China’s city of Wuhan, leading to death from heart failure in some cases.
The claim is made by doctors working in the Hubei Province capital that is at the center of the epidemic, which has to date infected 64,201 people and killed 1,487.
Both the relative and doctors asked to remain anonymous, out of consideration they might face retribution from the Chinese authorities.

Instead of creating immunity the virus can reportedly reinfect an individual and hasten fatal heart attack.

Instead of creating immunity the virus can reportedly reinfect an individual and hasten fatal heart attack.Bring Out Your DeadThis bodes ill for creating a vaccine.
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
If a quarantine saves just one child's life, it's worth it.
But only to Chinese people.
?
Corona ping
I think that was true of the so-called “Spanish flu” too.
It didn’t start in Spain, btw, but in France in a British or French military encampment...because Chinese workers had been brought in to replace local labor, which had been conscripted, so that only women and children remained on these farms.
When the flu broke out, England and France were both under heavy censorship, and it was thought that releasing information about this virulent new flu would demoralize the rear guard (the folks at home). So they censored it.
Spain, which was neutral, was infected before too long, but because it was neutral and did not have censorship, reporters could report on the outbreaks there...hence, it became known as the “Spanish flu.”
I would say the secrecy helped its spread, but at the same time, means of detection, protection or cure were very scarce in those days, so I’m not sure that much could have been done.
If true, this is worrisome:
According to the BBC and other media outlets, some laboratory tests are incorrectly telling people they are virus-free. There is also anecdotal evidence of people having up to six negative results before being diagnosed correctly.
Dr. Li Wenliang first raised concerns about this. His own test results had come back negative multiple times before he was finally diagnosed.]
Started in the usa according to one study, and came tonEurope with the dougboys.
Not that I believe that either.
THAT explains China’s ramped up efforts & draconian measures against the disease. Their economy is toast. Whatever the source was for this disease MUST be eliminated. They know what it was, but are not directly telling anyone. If it came from eating certain animals, whoever eats or trafficks in those animals must be executed.
I didn’t know that. A little history lesson :) Thanks
I guess we shall see what happens with this disease.
There are professionals who say that a certain gene in asians makes them quite a bit more susceptible it.
Like I said, we shall see.
One ship with possible infection docked in Bayonne 20ish minutes drive from my house.
I’ll let you know how it turns out!
I wonder if China’s CCP government is using 5G to eliminate their own citizens to create a greater amount of terror regarding the Wuhan-coronavirus.
The Spanish Flu started near Fort Riley, Kansas and was carried to Europe by our troops.
I’d already heard something about reinfection. It sure would be nice to hear some good news. So far its been bad upon bad.
If only asians get the flu why where ever they go lots of other people become infected?
or kill by causing other organ failure
note: in china these deaths are not counted or attributed to the virus - likely accounts for the massive backlog at the 49 crematoriums in wuhan
not known
Not proven yet.
Their economy is toast
and because the world and the US depend on what the chinese make, so are we ...
killing one more in this epidemic wont be noticed or helpful
stay upwind ...
