I’ve seen this scenario play out at least 3 times beginning with the seventies (2 of them) into the 80’s Obama’s fiasco in 2009. None of them came close to filling the prophesies of the gloom and doomers and until I see substantially more evidence I’ll stand pat with what I said. It could but the hospitals are exiting a rather bad influenza season which afflicted ~40 million Americans and caused est. 20,000 - 52,000 deaths. Where’s the hysteria for this mass killer?

Actually, most people are immune to the flu. The reason that people get the flu repeatedly is because every once in a while, they are exposed to a new flu virus (because influenza is constantly mutating, there are always new flu viruses). That only happens every few years for most people. People who receive the flu shot decrease their chance of getting the flu.
On the other hand, no one is immune to this corona virus. I also do not know the demographic breakdowns on mortalities.
Just a note, LT, there was someone on a thread on FR that was keeping track of (and it seemed like anticipation) of COVID-19 being diagnosed in every state.
