The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds have released a map that shows the route they and the U.S. Navy Blue Angels will follow for a flyover on Tuesday, April 28.
The America Strong flyover by the military precision flying teams is meant to be a salute to health care workers during the coronavirus pandemic and a sign of national unity.
The flyover begins at Joint Base Maguire-Dix-Lakehurst at 1:45 then goes over Levittown and Trenton before heading south for three loops over the Philadelphia region around 1:55 p.m. The flyover then heads south over Wilmington at 2:15 p.m.
President Trump announced the mission, named Operation America Strong, after it was reported by The Washington Post on Wednesday, April 22. He said that the mission was the idea of our great military men and women, and will recognize health-care workers.

Personally I don’t like this idea. It just screams SQUIRREL! to me. Plus God forbid they lose one of these guys in an accident. Trump will own it.
Let’s take risks for actual gain and not PR.
Let them eat cake.

What does Upstate get?
(crickets)
Pilots need their flight hours.

The Karens will freak out in New York.
Orange Man Bad will be giving them 9/11 flashbacks, don’tchaknow...
The Navy and Air Force are doing a good thing to lift spirits, and to remind people of the greatness of this nation. We have are a magnificent people, we have an incredible military, and we are the greatest nation on earth.
No, it doesn't speed distribution of unemployment payments, or end tyrannical "lockdowns." That is beyond the authority of the military - but what it does do is give people a chance to literally look up, and to hope.
In before some idiot says, “Why are we paying for this?”
Then why not include Upstate?
Check out those Erie County stats. Percentage of positives who die there ranks right up with the worst of Downstate.
Upstate has known for a very long time that Albany and a large number of NYC pols think civilization ends west of the Hudson, but I expected better from Trump.
Not to mention the number of people Upstate who respect and honor our military...
They are obviously flying over some of the highest population corridors of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania (Philadelphia). We could also ask, "Why not Iowa!?"
I think they may expand the flyovers, but these formations are relatively small, and F-16s and F-18s are not massive aircraft. Their footprint is what it is.
Perhaps they will expand their flyovers to other parts of the nation, but I think you know the answer to as why they cannot cover every mile of the United States.
I never suggested that they tour the US, but now that you mention it, that’s a lovely idea!
But, IIRC, you live in NYS? Downstate?
But we weren't wearing masks a month ago. I'd like to see some numbers...and if we obtained herd immunity. I bet that number is WAY up here. That's why we will never get tested here.
Steuben County has a heartbreaking situation going on with some nursing homes.
NYS is not being transparent about cases in nursing homes, or its corrections facilities come to that, and neither are the counties.
We here in Eastern Montgomery County should have a good show this afternoon. My home is very close to the Willow Grove Naval Air Station. There was an annual airshow there every year when it was operational and the fighter jets would practice their routines over our neighborhood. It was thrilling!
In addition to lifting spirits in general, I believe this flyover is meant salute healthcare workers, so they are flying over areas with high concentrations of hospitals.
is this essential?
If you take a look at the Erie County stats I posted, you’ll note that the chances of dying while positive are pretty high.
I just checked, they are higher in Erie County than in all of NYS save for 2 counties in NYC.
I imagine the healthcare workers in Erie County are just as overworked and stressed. The ones who’ve lost their jobs even more so.
The map isn’t too clear, but it looks like they will looping over that part of 611. I just remembered...I need to do a Lowe’s run this afternoon!
