The author is a virtue signalling ass. Appreciating those whose day to day work form the links in the supply chain(s) is fine, but the sneering condescension in his final paragraph shows he believes he is in the “enlightened elite”.

You are correct, here is a poem that I like that expresses the concept that we all have some part to contribute, and we know we all cannot drive the car.
