Eager to reopen, local officials across Pennsylvania are set to defy Gov. Tom Wolfs plan to cautiously ease coronavirus restrictions.
The governor has outlined a phased reopening plan, complete with a color-coded readiness chart. Wolf announced Friday that 24 more counties have qualified as yellow, meaning they can partially reopen Friday, while extending stay-at-home orders for the remaining red counties until early June.
Some local officials dont agree with the tiered strategy, though. They plan to use their power to proceed with their own reopening plans, despite the fact that Pennsylvania confirmed 1,323 new coronavirus cases in a single day on Friday.

Bullshit
I believe nothing claimed by wolf's corrupt cabal.
2/3 of all the case are reported to be from Philadelphia and the four counties bordering the city and the rate of new cases from that area is declining. Wolf has no clue what the hell in going on.
First, gubbernor wolf claimed that 350 people died on a single day and when questioned by County Coroners the number was reduced by over 200 people...poof...gone.
So I question the number, but even if accurate, where are they?
Nursing homes in the Philly area?
Don't. I watched that tranny piece of schiff admit in yesterday's news conference that the death count now includes old data (not previously reported). They are playing games with the numbers and playing politics with a hoax of a flu. Rats cannot be trusted for anything.
I highly suggest that as business owners reopen their businesses they do not rehire Rat employees. Business will start off slow and 100% staffing will not be required. Rats at all levels are to blame and some Republicans afraid of their own shadows. We do not need these pansies in our society. Let the live in misery for the harm they have caused.
JA WOHLf
The guy is weak, and his Sec of Heath is in need of psychiatric intervention.
Here in Bucks County, one of the collar counties of Philly, at least 75% of new cases, as well as deaths, are in nursing homes. Last I heard only 3 handfull of new cases were due to community spread. But here we sit, still in detention. Business are starting to open up here, regardless. Police don’t seem to be doing anything about it. Traffic is picking up.
So far there are seven Counties in the rebel alliance: Beaver (the lone red one on the Ohio border) and six toward the west end of the big red zone bordering Maryland: Adams, York, Dauphin, Lebanon, Cumberland, and Perry.
Statewide 2/3 of the deaths have been in nursing homes.
In rebel Adams County, the percentage is higher: 4/5 or 80%.
In Lancaster County (not yet rebelling) the nursing home deaths are an astounding 141/145 or 97%.
“new coronavirus cases”
They want you to think that this means “this many people were just diagnosed with the disease”. It doesn’t. It means “This many people were seen by a doctor and have the virus in their system.”
In Beaver County, more than 70 of the 78 deaths they had took place in a single nursing home facility.
And yet it is the only county in Western PA that won’t be allowed to open next week.
“Allowed” or not, Beaver County will reopen. The local officials are in open defiance of the Governor.
Sweet smell of liberty!
OTFU (”O” = open)
Next door in Montco it's also heavily a care home problem. I checked the state's COVID page and the current numbers indicate 83% of deaths in our county are associated with care homes. (New cases cut across the population more broadly) We are seeing traffic increasing as time goes on. I've seen some hand-lettered signs for barbering and hair salons. Those are the bold ones. I'm sure a lot more is going on through word of mouth. Masks aren't much in evidence except as required to get into food stores. Lines are long at restaurants as people support their local businesses via take-out meals. People are also getting more vocal in opposition as they start to see that they are not alone in their disagreement with the lockdown. The kettle is simmering.
