That’s a stringent standard. I took a look at his ADA score (liberal rating by People for the American Way, a far-left group) way back. Zell was more right wing than 90% of the Republican party of his time. Today, that would be 100%. Most of these right-wing Democrats switched parties. That’s why we have GOP majorities today. They used to keep Democrats somewhat more centrist. When they switched parties or lost Dem primaries, the Dems drifted to the left.

If you did any reading or research at all you would see that part of Brooklyn is in our district and that’s why a hardcore conservative could never win. But Staten island elected officials are conservative. Do some research next time don’t be so lazy.]

Maybe the population of SI is very conservative, but I have my doubts. Susan Molinari is not someone I would call very conservative. This was probably before redistricting added in Brooklyn.
