So the state, acting as the state, punishes its employee for exercising his First Amendment rights. So much for all the protestations from the left and from the officials of the state of New Jersey about the sacredness of the right to protest.

Evidently, that right applies only if you are on the right side of the issue.

Please note, the suspended employee is not even alleged to have "taunted [or] tried to upset the protesters", he is simply accused of being "among the group" accused of doing so.

Evidently, the concept of collective guilt is alive and well as an official state policy in New Jersey.
