Well, what the c**p do they expect?
Taxation is used to discourage something.
They got what they asked for.
OH NO. Our revenue is down. How will the oppressed people (our slaves) survive?
Well, with everyone being paid to work from home
= = =
So how does that work for a car wash business?
California leftist should rejoice...less cars, less pollution..hallelujah!
Even with the high gas tax roads are not maintained. More than likely they are diverted to pay for illegals.
Some time ago Pe-lousy propsed an entrance toll for people taveling into SF. Look for many such taxes in the future.
Kookiefornia is jacked on state and local sales taxes. Why can’t they use those?
(OTOH, if teleworking becomes a permanent thing, that pretty much resolves the whole “toll lanes” issue — that is, we simply won’t need them; they’ll be both unfeasible and unnecessary.)
I was on I-80 going into San Francisco one busy Sunday in 2014. I must have spent at least a half hour waiting to get through the SF-Oakland tolls.
Yeah, well they are building Fastrack lane on 880 for what I don’t know but, they are not needed and no one can figure out when they are alllowed in a lane they paid for
My pickup truck had a little over 50% of a tank on 12 March, and I filled up my wife’s Lexus on 12 March because the next day she had a same day procedure at a Kaiser hospital.
The next day, they were literally closing the hospital down as the nurse wheeled my wife out to the curb for me to pick her up in front of the hospital at about 3 pm.
That, was our first clue of what was coming re the Covid 19 shutdowns. The traffic coming home on a Friday was lighter than normal.
One of our family members called to see how my wife was. My wife answered and said she was fine. The family member said that our world had changed due to a virus. She said that we should stop for any needed groceries or gas. We were okay. We asked what was happening. She told us to turn on the radio, as she couldn’t really explain what was happening.
We couldn’t believe that our world was being shut down for a virus. When you are in your 80’s, your personal history says
“That Ain’t possible!”
We got home with zero problems. We called our relatives and close friends to let them know my wife was fine. One of the close friends is a member of our church, and she said that our church would be closed for Sat nite and Sunday services. She didn’t know for how long. (still closed)
We turned the car radio on , and they were trying to explain
what was happening and would happen.

After that, we didn’t use our vehicles except to pick up groceries for a couple of months.
You don’t need to buy a lot of gas while sheltering and cowering.
The two key phrases:
1) “At some point when does the government lay off workers like has been done in the private sector?”
2)”Government workers seem to be fully employed and some are working from home while receiving full pay because their office is closed. “
Government benefits and security have far eclipsed those of the private sector. And, they have the nerve to complain that they lack tax funding and it should therefore be Federalized, i.e., taxed or borrowed across the entire country.
Perhaps your mis-spelling of government as givernment was deliberate, and I shouldn’t have spell-corrected, haha.
Well, reduced tax income, eh??
Our esteemed DEMOCRAT ruling class has the answer -— keep the state locked down, close businesses, stifle spending, kill jobs...
Yes, that will fix the tax revenue issue.....
Never, them there are Dem voters, we need to expand government not shrink it. We'll just raise taxes.
Depends on how you view things.
Do you think you are justly being represented and governed by a government?
Do you believe you are forced work everyday for your lively hood and aspirations while others are paid to sit at home and get their education from “The View”?
So, “The Taxpayer” goes to work each day because millions of welfare recipients are depending them”
Givernment....
Frankly, at this point in time, considering the various Federal agencies that seem to be politically arrayed against us, I’d be happy to see a serious drop in funding for the US government, even though I would probably lose my own job as a result. It’s that serious.
So, folks, take all the exemptions that you can on your W-4’s!

Umm. You seem to be a little behind the times.
State and local taxes of many types are well below their usual take. And that’s not ending until states reopen completely.
It will get interesting soon.
Probably go after Prop 13 and hack everybody’s property tax.
“hack” s/b “jack”.
