ATLANTA (Gray News) – Former GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain is hospitalized after testing positive for COVID-19.
The 74-year-old found out Monday that he had coronavirus and by Wednesday “had developed symptoms serious enough that he required hospitalization,” a statement on his Twitter account said.
“Mr. Cain did not require a respirator, and he is awake and alert.”
Cain, a cancer survivor, attended a highly publicized Trump political rally last month in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In photo posted to his Twitter account, he was shown not wearing a mask and not social distancing in the crowd of thousands.

I am not disagreeing with your assessment — I think your observation I likely valid. The literature is reporting mean time to critical illness is onset of symptoms +1.3 days (So mean time is 6.4 days to ICU). The most recent increase I have seen has been pretty much in line with this. Currently there are 54 patients in my hospital with coVID NOT in the ICU. They have been sitting out on the floor with no signs of deterioration. My feeling is that a bunch of hospitals are capitalizing on the U07.1 DRG being paid regardless if the patient is insured. Just a feeling.
What I am not seeing is a giant increase in critically ill or ventilated patients. In the last 3 weeks we have only had 2 - 3 ventilated patients added to our ICU census and we are not getting a lot worse....
I suppose the next week will be interesting.

Pray for this good man. As a black conservative he is always singled out for most vicious attacks.
I supported him when he ran for president. I am white but he reflected my conservative values. The color of his skin was of no importance
My Coworker parent is 82, tested positive for Covid. They use Remedesivir from the start at admission, no symptoms now. They are waiting on a negative test result before returning to nursing home.
The new treatments are lowering the death rate.

Rally was two weeks ago yesterday so timing would work (got sick 5-6 days later, test results on 2-3 days later, hospitalized on day 10. Certainly possible but not definite without knowing more.
I voted for him back in the day. He was sort of like Trump in that he was defiant of Deep State. Of course, in the end they ended his presidential bid.
I stood within a few feet of him when he was doing his radio show remote at a Sean Hannity and Neal Boortz stage show. I am proud to say that I voted for him twice, once for Senator and once for President.
I just hope he will be OK..I dont know who around him might have had it..I would think if the rally were the source more people would have contracted it by now
