Interesting article. Thanks for posting. Good therapists can be extremely helpful, but in my view they are few and far between. Psychiatrists these days are essentially psychopharmacologists, and do little in the way of exploring the issues a particular patient is facing. What this article relates about a woman who is having an affair, is diagnosed by a psychiatrist as being ‘depressed’ and thus given drugs without any discussion of what the affair is doing to her life, is a great case in point.

We all witnessed the destruction of faith ... and innocence ... when the Catholic Church deferred to therapists instead of the Council of Nicea to decide how to handle pedophile priests. None of the media coverage reported that the Catholic Church in nearly every incident followed the advice of therapists who insisted the priests had been sick and therefore lacked culpability, and had now been cured and could safely return to ministry.

I sent it to a friend who has a daughter under the influence of a therapist who’s told her, anything goes as long as it makes you happy, etc and turned her against her mother.

And now, if a therapist tries to tell a patient that homosexual behavior isn’t helping, the therapist can be fined, sued or jailed.
