In Pennsylvania 93% of Covid 19 deaths were people over 60, almost all of whom had comorbidities, or complicating factors. In this sense, Covid19 was nowhere near as serious as the Spanish Flu epidemic of 1917-1918, which killed somewhere between 17-50 million out of 500 million people infected with a world population of about 1.5 billion people. In other words, about 33% of the worlds population became infected with Spanish Flu and about 3% perished. Todays Covid19 numbers are not even close, with a total of 23 million worldwide cases and 800,000 deaths out of a global population of 7.8 Billion people.

Karen is mostly hating on white females who speak up for themselves.
Yes I know we can go too far as can men and other ethnic groups.
But a Karen is a Middle Aged White woman, only. A racist sexist insult that is politically correct.
Do you wear a mask in public and do you think it is doing any good? Its a simple question.
-
Not if I can help it. If a business requires it I will comply by always pulling it down below my nose to breath easier. No I dont think they do any good. The mask are just a means of control over our lives.
It isn’t meant to mislead it’s just the raw daily death count. It could be adjusted to show a per capita rate but I haven’t seen a graph with that.
Take NY state out of U.S. figures and we’d be looking much better in comparison to any country.
Compare NY state alone to all other nation states and it would be close to the worst of all. It has almost double the population of Sweden so it wouldn’t be unfair to make the comparison.
It's a truism that before coronavirus came along we we were all more susceptible. And now that it is here we will build up immunity. Nobody disagrees with that. In 1918 H1N1 was brand new and killed lots of people. It had almost 10% case fatality. Now we all get it and mostly have a very small case fatality 0.1% in a bad year.
But to say before coronavirus was around we were living in a bubble and getting weaker immune systems because of it is a little far fetched. There are undoubtedly tribes in the jungle that have not been exposed yet. Are their immune systems getting weaker each day that they are not exposed? No. It makes absolutely no difference if they are exposed today, next year or ten years fron now.
We should never have shut anything down, especially the schools. We should never have social distanced or worn these stupid bacteria ridden masks.
Masks suck and I wear one out of courtesy to people who think they work, and because I have to at work. The schools should have been left alone. The Swedish model worked pretty well. They had higher per capita death than we did, but now they have essentially zero death. The virus has burned itself out there. The virus has even burned itself out in a lot of NYC.
But many Swedes distanced. They weren't told to distance, but many of them did. They didn't wear masks, and of course masks are not very useful in many cases, so it didn't matter. The Swedish economy dropped 8,6% It's obvious why. People stopped going to restaurants, some stopped working, people curtailed shopping. All because of the virus.
“It isnt meant to mislead...”
I didn’t say it was meant to mislead. I said it’s a bit misleading.
It is the raw numbers, but not normalized for population. Normalization shows Italy and UK are worse than US, but the absolute number graph of course has the U.S. seemingly the worst at superficial glance.
And you’re right. New York City region, including up to Boston and down through New Jersey are a huge percentage of US cases.
New Orleans and Detroit are very high too.
Without these regions US is much lower in death index.
California has a high number of deaths, but deaths per capita are lower than the U.S. State average.
Israel

The Second Wave is coming! Booga booga booga booga!
LOL Oh, yeah! It’s coming any time now.
Democrats are traveling the countryside, sneezing on people in flyover land.
When I sneeze my Mossberg goes off. :)
But to say before coronavirus was around we were living in a bubble and getting weaker immune systems because of it is a little far fetched.
I didnt exactly say that - but you are right, we were not living in a bubble and getting weaker before Covid19 came along. We were getting exposed to lots of other coronaviruses (the common cold for example), and getting stronger as a result.
When someone with a cold (coronavirus) is coughing and sneezing, we shun them, rightly call them names for spreading germs, and try not to touch anything they touched.
But it is largely futile because people can hide their symptoms and you cant tell who is sick or what has been touched.
There are undoubtedly tribes in the jungle that have not been exposed yet. Are their immune systems getting weaker each day that they are not exposed? No.
That is debatable. Viruses, and even coronaviruses, have differences, but they also have similarities. Arguably, a person who has been exposed to a lot of different coronaviruses, but not Covid19, would have an advantage fighting off Covid19, over someone who had lived in a bubble.
Using your tribes in the jungle example, lets say two tribes that never saw an automobile or a semi before, were suddenly placed in the middle of a busy five lane intersection during rush hour. They may not fare so well, since they wouldnt have the experience to know what the danger was.
But lets say one tribe survived for generations growing crops, while the other tribe were hunters who evolved around herds of wild Elephants, Rhinoceros, etc.. Perhaps that tribe might have developed the natural speed, agility and awareness to avoid fast-moving objects that weigh several tons. So they might fare better in traffic than the other tribe, even though they had never been exposed to automobiles.
I think its fair to say that if you let yourself get exposed to everything, you probably have the immune system of a buzzard. If you are a germaphobe, you probably dont. I would rather have the immune system of a buzzard, so I only follow the guidelines out of respect for other peoples fears.
But I dont respect Fauci and the others spreading fear when they know better. They are doing it for Big Pharma $$$ and to try and mess up President Trumps re-election politics.
I agree with that. The more people are exposed to similar viruses the better off they will be for the new one.
Arguably, a person who has been exposed to a lot of different coronaviruses, but not Covid19, would have an advantage fighting off Covid19, over someone who had lived in a bubble.
I think that's a valid argument.
But I dont respect Fauci and the others spreading fear when they know better. They are doing it for Big Pharma $$$ and to try and mess up President Trumps re-election politics.
I agree with that. They are spreading fear to kill the economy, plain and simple. The tactic has worked worldwide.
Well of course! You and your friends sit together in the library, a roaring fire in the fireplace, the Golden Retriever at your feet ...
Sounds lovely! I’m sure that there are some dastardly schemes you all dream up. ;)
So long as you wear a face mask;-)
I can report from my hospital that are covid admissions are down.....
How ‘bout if I put a surgical mask over the end of the shotgun?
Keepin’ it safe for everybody!
Sure, usually we like to drill right in the middle of an old timers pecan orchard. We just mow them down with a bulldozer. He can replant them.

You can take NY out in May
Or you can take NY out in August, it makes no difference. NY easily won the race to kill the most people
.
The death figures are a little old but ONLY DimWIT governors killed by putting infected into nursing homes. The DemWIT state death rates are about four times per million of many of the RED states.
Nicely done. Thank you!
