McDonald's McRib is set to return to menus across the US on December 2. This is the first time since 2012 that the McRib will roll out nationally. It follows years of fans begging McDonald's to bring the sandwich back across America. "In a year as challenging as this year has been, to throw a little McRib out there to those that really want to have it, it feels like something that would be a pretty nice gesture," said Alan Klein, the creator of the McRib Locator.

I never had one, but given how popular it seems to be (it has quite a cult following) I really want to try one. Reading how the "rib" is made doesn't sound particularly appealing, but I bet it's pretty tasty

Yeah, it’s pretty good. It was better in the early days of the product when they gave you an extra pack of bbq sauce. For those of us who like sloppy barbecue it was pretty awesome. But it’s still good. As for how it’s made, if you like hot dogs you’ll be fine eating a McRib.

Ton of sugar, sodium and fat.

If you have blood pressure issues, scrap off as much of the sauce as possible before eating.

They’re gross. Lack of availability has artificially created undeserved demand. They’re basically spam in a bad BBQ sauce.

If they are so popular why not just sell them all year round?

McDonald’s has been rolling these out every now and then since I was a kid. I think McDonald’s is right not to have them on the menu constantly - it’s the kind of thing that tastes good after a long break, but you get sick of it pretty soon.

“Ton of sugar, sodium and fat.

My blood pressure is low. Systolic is holding steady at 90. That concerns me because I feel tired a lot. My cardiologist knows about it, but doesn’t seem to think it’s a big deal. I’d like to get my bp back to where it was most of my life: 120/80. So bring on the McRib. I’d like mine with extra salt please.

It apparently has something to do with pork prices. They only put them out when they can get a really good deal on pork -- very often, it is just regional.

They have done a great job marketing them, though.

I’m with you. A slab of processed mystery meat on a large bun. Never cared for it and I like McDonalds overall.

I remember when McRib first launched in the 1980s, everyone made fun of it, and it was considered to be a “flop.”
