Pandemic Nightmare Returns. Supply Chains Stressed, Leading to Empty Store Shelves
pjmedia ^ | 11/28/20 | Rick Moran

With governors clamping down and closing their states due to increased coronavirus positive tests and deaths, some consumers are apparently worried they will never, ever be able to purchase toilet paper again and are stocking up until the next millennia, “just in case.” The result is empty shelves at the grocery store. And supply chains are breaking under the strain.

Others are concerned they’ll never see another piece of chicken or grill another steak and are emptying meat departments. And with the evil virus on the loose, keeping your house clean to prevent the beast from taking up residence requires a lifetime supply of disinfectant and floor wax.

Sorry, but I don’t feel the panic. Now that you mention it, I could use a couple of supersized packages of TP, and can you throw in a half-dozen 18-roll packages of paper towels too?

That is, if you can find it. The first of the hoarders were panic shoppers. But then came the smart shoppers who saw the signs and intelligently purchased 150 rolls of TP because, well, if not them, then whom?

I hope some clever sociologist is taking notes and will tell us all about it when it’s over. It’s been absolutely fascinating to watch.

The number of active “cases” in my County is now dropping.

Proof that we as a species can be controlled almost entirely by fear alone.

I’m set. 38 rolls of toilet paper in my cupboard.

Try finding Formula 409 or similar cleaners.

I’m still trying to find some Varget. We don’t have a TP problem here - my son just bought some at Costco yesterday. Of course, it’s the groady Kirkland brand which is about 120 grit.

When the revolt comes, may it make the reaction to Mussolini seem tame.

An earlier post from a Johns Hopkins study shows that there has been no increase in death attributed to COVID. Death rate is consistent with year-over-year stats with flu and other health issues.

Not where I live, everything is stocked even the little signs that said “limit 2 per customer” have disappeared.

“I’m set. 38 rolls of toilet paper in my cupboard.”

But you’re a good guy. You should give it to someone who is completely full of shi...er...Obamastuff.

Say, a nearby Democrat governor.
Or media moron (but I repeat myself).

No shortages near me except of sale items, just as usual. Probably a blue-state/red-state thing again.

Easy solution to TP problem: put a bidet on each toilet.

Shortages here again started a little while ago. Few weeks maybe? Some things disappeared from my neighborhood store and have not returned yet. Liquid soap I like is missing for months, national paper towel brands gone. Silly snacks I used to buy for a relative are gone for months. Luckily the garbage I eat is not in low supply ;)

I still have what I bought in April, sitting unopened in my basement.

Try finding Formula 409 or similar cleaners.

Most of those were gone in the first week and are still gone.

“national paper towel brands gone.”

I’ll be darned-—my daughter called a few days ago and told me she had some Bounty paper towels if I needed them-—I told her I was all set. I was puzzled by the call, did not know they were hard to find.

I agree, the shortages started again weeks ago, leading up to Thanksgiving. I’ve started trying to get enough for 3 months now. I was caught off guard before. I’m trying hard to not let that happen again.
