Congressman-elect Luke Letlow dies from COVID-19

SHREVEPORT, La. — Congressman-elect Luke Letlow has died after contracting COVID-19 last week, according to his campaign manager Andrew Bautsch.

Letlow, who just turned 41, was getting treatment in the intensive care unit in Shreveport, according to an announcement on his Twitter page last week.

Thank you. One of the hardest parts of COVID was not be able to see my dad in person. We talked on the phone and had a ZOOM call right before he passed. He had been real healthy 3 weeks earlier and, then, gone. Not seeing him in person made it feel like it kind of wasn’t really happening. I still expect to see him at work every morning (we worked together).

You don’t have to have comorbidities to die from this coronavirus. My sister is a physician and she had a 31-year old woman, perfectly healthy except for COVID-19, end up dead in the ICU.

The death of healthy children and adults from respiratory infections is not uncommon.

However, COVID-19 usually kills the elderly and the infirm.

Protect the elderly and the infirm.

Everyone else, back to your normal life.
