A 95-year-old German woman has been charged with being an accessory to the murder of more than 10,000 people at the Stutthof concentration camp in Poland during World War II.

The unidentified woman, who reportedly worked as a secretary and commandant’s aide in the camp for two years, will be tried in juvenile court because she was under 21 at the time, according to the public prosecutor’s office in the small town of Itzehoe, northwest of Hamburg.

Just something about hauling a 95 year old woman into juvenile court I find both amusing and disturbing.

If we made 16 the culpable of age of being an adult for being involved in Nazism or death of the Jews, the youngest possible age right now is 91, because that person was 16 in 1945.

There must only be a few hundred people, at most who could be charged with this sort of crime.

A lot of the Stutthof prisoners came from the Baltics. A lot of the history of that area is intertwined.

This is nuts. She was a secretary. She was a minor. It was her J O B doing secretarial work.

Similarly, Hitler's personal secretary Traudel Junge wrote her biography which was made into a popular movie Downfall. Everyone who has seen the Hitler parodies on Youtube has seen part of Downfall.

Even in the shadow of the death camps, both Soviet and Allied authorities realized that Traudel Junge was a nobody doing her job typing papers and taking dictation, nothing more. She was never prosecuted, a lived the rest of her life quietly in West Germany.

Liberals imagine themselves to be the type of heroes where they would stand in the very path of the tanks and soldiers in order to try and stop the evils of Nazism.

That’s what this woman is being punished for, for not being that type of imagined hero.

How many people would have been in jail in Germany in 1950 if we had applied todays legal standard for activities in 1939-1945 in 1950. Maybe we should have. It doesn’t seem fair to increase the standard just because fewer are still alive. Are we just virtue signaling today?

It’s not nuts. As secretary, she would likely have seen documents indicating that Jews were being killed in the camp. She’s an accessory to atrocities and needs to pay.

Liberals imagine themselves to be the type of heroes where they would stand in the very path of the tanks and soldiers in order to try and stop the evils of Nazism.

Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.) would have undoubtedly tried to "mingle" with the S.S. men to avoid being recognized, while AOC would have ordered some poor Concentration Camp inmate to "lend" her her striped prison garb so that she could "hide in the crowd."

Regards,

She was a secretary I don’t see how she would be complicit in any war crimes of the Nazis.

I shouldn’t be happy with this but I am. She lived for 75 years without being held accountable, but this exposure gives her a chance to seek forgiveness before she crosses over. It will be the last thing she will remember in this world...a chance for redemption.

Too bad we didn’t apply this type of justice to the Japanese. They were vicious and sadistic as hell.

“Liberals imagine themselves to be the type of heroes where they would stand in the very path of the tanks and soldiers in order to try and stop the evils of Nazism.”

The would indeed do that; until the first one gets smashed flat and ground into mincemeat at which time the others run like the wind never to attempt it again.
