I haven’t followed Reince Priebus closely - but in 2016, to this outsider, he seemed to take the high road and allow free and fair primaries within the GOP, to allow people to choose Trump over the Bush dynasty.
While we don’t want to praise someone for merely following the rules, I imagine there were some establishment types who would have preferred to take the Democrat road — allowing RINO elites to rig primaries, having leakers murdered, and using corrupt media to destroy the outsider candidates.

He opposed efforts to deny Trump the nomination at the 2016 Republican National Convention and supported his presidential campaign in the general election. Days after Trump won the 2016 presidential election, Trump announced that Priebus would serve as his first Chief of Staff. On July 28, 2017, President Trump announced that he would make Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly the chief of staff, after Priebus submitted his resignation on July 27. Priebus had the shortest tenure of any non-interim White House Chief of Staff in American history.[4] Priebus' last day in the position was July 31 when Kelly was sworn in. Priebus drew controversy for his management style as chief of staff.[5][6][7]
Wish he had stayed at the RNC. He got the job done there.
All this time, and I never heard that moniker before. LOL!
He also got the job done with the GOTV efforts in the general election in 2016 - that effort was second to none.
He also cleaned things up and got things back in good financial shape after the disaster of Michael Steele’s chairmanship.
But he was horrible as White House Chief of Staff - that role was not something he was suited for.
I don’t know how effective someone who is literally a political insider would be in waging a campaign - he would be open to a lot of attacks that could stick.
