All told, seven people died in connection with the U.S. Capitol riot on Jan. 6. But only Ashli Babbitt’s death was directly caused by violence that day. She was a rioter killed by a Capitol Police officer, who fired the only shot by any person during the 4½-hour siege. Yet the story of who he is and why he opened fire remains shrouded in mystery.
More than six weeks after Babbitt succumbed to a single gunshot wound to the upper chest, authorities are keeping secret the identity of the officer who fired the fatal round. They won’t release his name, and the major news media aren’t clamoring for it, in stark contrast to other high-profile police shootings of unarmed civilians.
The secrecy has fueled Internet reports misidentifying the shooter as a Capitol Police special agent previously commended by President Trump for bravery. The false rumors have triggered threats against the officer.

Why are the media outlets hiding him? The man deliberately murdered an unarmed girl.
It’s amazing how many people, conservatives among them, are so quick to recite the obligatory disavowal of violence at the Capitol, but they have nothing to say about the murder of Ashli Babbitt. They don’t say her name. It’s violence against democracy, or a riot at the Capitol, some unwashed people at Pelosi’s desk or at the podium. But a woman was deliberately shot dead by someone whose mere name we are not entitled to know, and very few people see fit to refer to it.
And your evidence for this is what, exactly?
Police kill unarmed people all the time and they don't get charged for it. Within the past week we had grand juries in New York and Colorado refusing to charge officers for killing unarmed suspects. Where is this surprising?
The video shows pretty clearly that he purposefully murdered a Trump supporter. I’ll bet he came there with intention of doing so. It was deliberate and he showed no sign of being in fear.

Ashli took cues from the clowns working the doors. Her hair was down likely for easy identification.

All staged. The gun barrel was virtually parallel to the ground. She would have been hit in the groin area if it were real. Her mass was also through the door, but she fell backwards with comforting hands to prevent her head from smacking on the ground.

Did you see the videos? At that range, would the bullet not have passed through her neck? Of course a blank wouldn’t.

That’s because one of the actors was compressing her chest, while another was spraying water in her mouth with a sports bottle. And she was completely topless lying on the stretcher, or wearing a prosthetic.
I saw a video of her topless on the stetcher. After she was reportedly shot in the neck. And I must say it was awfully nice of someone to have washed all the "gushing blood" off of her and the stetcher as they were wheeling her away.
Awfully nice.
