Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo decried the Biden administration's release of a declassified report regarding Saudi Arabia's involvement in the murder of Jamal Khashoggi on Sunday, calling the report's release a "reckless" move.

Speaking on Fox News on Sunday, the former secretary of State under the Trump administration argued that the Biden administration had "political" motives for releasing the report and was bent on souring the U.S.-Saudi relationship over the issue.

"The release of this report was reckless....this administration wants to develop a relationship with Iran and destroy one with the kingdom of Saudi Arabia ...

Jimmy Carter made a big mistake calling for human rights but it was really mixed. This murder was pretty nasty but SA was going in the right direction. Someday every member of the Saudi royal family will be hunted down and we become the world’s oil producer. If we play it right.

The Potato Brain administration is a major national security threat.
No doubt in my mind about it.

Virtue signaling has always been a way to turn potential adversaries into angry and hostile enemies.

There are no clean hands out there....

The Kashoggi report wasn’t an intelligence report. It was a press release of some unnamed analyst’s opinion, almost certainly written up to appease a partisan political narrative for the administration. That’s not how any of this works.

Seeing as Free Republic has been, for as long as I can recall for over 22 years, very ANTI SAUDI ARABIA, and particularly since 9-11 and their connections to Bush Family and the clear line from them to Islamofascism terrorism (spiriting royal family members and diplomats out of the US prior to 9-11), I would expect Freepers to also be consistent and be happy that House of Saud is being exposed for what they are? Right? There probably will be nobody on here sticking up for Riyadh and giving them slack. Right?

Say what you will about the RINO George W. Bush, at least his very first visit as a new US President, (an act which the whole world watches and reads deep significance into it), was not to Saudi Arabia.... just sayin.

What exactly is your point? What I read is the drum beat for war.. any place on God’s green earth.. Deep state planted contractors, in need of taxpayer blood and treasury, for their Congressional masters? Some people are truly ignorant.

“The House of Saud” is very complex—with members ranging from insane psychopaths to wonderful humanitarians.

The current ruler seems to be a part of the first group.

The problem is—our current ruler is also an insane psychopath—so not a great time to start pointing fingers...

Khashoggi was a rabid Jew-hater and apologist for Al Queda. Whywould anyone shed a tear over his death?

The best explanation I have is that Iran helped Biden and the Dems fix the election, and now they owe Iran. The payback is to damage the U.S.-Saudi relationship. Of course, it may well be true that MBS approved of the killing.
