Pinning the death of Jamal Khashoggi on Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman is important to those who want to return to the Obama-era alignment of the U.S. with Iran, not Saudi Arabia, as our principal relationship with the Middle East Muslim world. MbS, as he is known, is a committed modernizer, favorable to warming relations with Israel. Damaging his global standing with the tar of culpability for the killing and dismemberment of Khashoggi could even lead to his fall from the pinnacle of power in Riyadh.
Caroline Glick explains who Khashoggi really was — not an actual "journalist" or "columnist" for the Washington Post (he was a non-salaried contributor of op-eds that were published from time to time):
As Lee Smith reported after he was found dead in the Saudi consulate in Turkey, there were a lot of things about Khashoggi that made him a strange hero for Americans of any stripes. He was a Qatari agent of influence. He was a former Saudi intelligence officer who sided with the Wahabist jihadists in the royal family who supported al Qaeda. He was friends with Osama bin Laden and mourned his death. The al Qaeda, ISIS, Iran and Hamas supporting Qatari regime was essentially writing his columns in the Washington Post.
On its face, Khashoggi's receipt of a green card made no sense given his open support for al Qaeda. On its face, his gig as a columnist at Jeff Bezos's paper made no sense given his relationship with Saudi intelligence and with the Qatari ruling family. But they made perfect sense in the context of the efforts made by Obama's deep state friends, particularly former CIA director John Brennan, who opposed MBS from the outset to empower the Muslim Brotherhood and the Iranian regime.

The relationship between those that control US foreign policy and the 9/11 Saudis has always been corrupt at its core. Think about how the Bush family became incredibly wealthy in the oil business and just why America attacked Iraq, the Saudi’s biggest threat, instead of holding the Saudi’s accountable for the 9/11 carnage. The current attack on the Saudi Crown Prince was the action of the Obama/Kerry led pro Iran,anti Israel cabal within the demented clueless Biden Administration to disrupt the defacto anti Iran Israel/Saudi Arabia/Sunni Gulf states coalition.
Exactly what it is. Why announce this now? They want to destroy any progress made in the Middle East by Trump and prefer hostilities to peace and stability...

You nailed it. This is a temporary purge of Saudi in retribution for their warming relationship w/ DJT and Israel. As soon as the purge has had its desired effect, the admin will be able to stir up that old anti-Israel ethos gain.

There are proven photographs of Jamal Khashoggi in 1988 in the Arab News May 4,1988 with Russian RPG in hand, with elements of al-Qaeda and photo’d with Osama bin Laden in a training camp. He was nephew of Adnan Khashoggi (major arms dealer and white slaver) and was still an arms dealer... not a “journalist”.
He was a Muslim Brotherhood member. In the Sudan, Afghanistan and with bin Laden for over 20 years. His “journalism” “writing” in the Bezos/ seee eyyyye ehhh controlled WaPo were ALL (and verified independently) composed by Qatari (assets and “intel” supported by Iran) embassy writers. Pure propagandist.
He was one of obamaumao’s pals with the Iranians and the Muslim Brotherhood. Set up to marry a Turkish female agent 30years his junior, lured to Istanbul to the Saudi Embassy to get “the license” , walked around without any security in Istanbul(!) and got in an argument with Saudis at the embassy, a fist fight and dropped dead of a heart attack (he was a fat a@@, easily lured by this truly ugly Turk woman). Entire thing was organized by Erdogan (remember him?) who still thinks he will be Caliph- and sticking his nose into Saudi Royal contretemps with ancient enemy Iran. The info on Khashoggi includes the autopsy result from a kit the Saudis used. You don’t autopsy a person you have murdered— and the Iranian propaganda the Turks wrote up describes a ridiculous “50 man Tiger Elite Assassination squad”- that does not exist.
JoeBama (actually obamaumao the puppeteers) is trying to revive the iran deal and mess with the Saudis. It is not going well. The Saudis are waaaaay ahead of these clowns.
He was a Qarar spy, on their payroll, writing fluff pieces for WaPo. Saying, “Yay Qatar! Boo MBS!”

Anyone upset over Khashoggi doesn’t understand that part of the world, and looks at them through a Western lens. Which is ultimately very, very misleading. There are basically no good guys involved. The Saudis got rid of a Muslim Brotherhood operative they saw as a threat, but did it very inartfully.
There was a thread on this recently wherein 10mm gave a brilliant short summary:
“Can someone tell me why I’m supposed to care that a terrorist nation had a terrorist murdered in another terrorist nation?
I’m more concerned with why the Washington Post had a known terrorist on their payroll.”
Also, that “another terrorist nation” is Turkey. Erdogan has done worse to real journalists, and no one in the Biden Administration is saying a thing about that, and Turkey is still in NATO for some reason.
