A tragic loss. I love Texas Roadhouse.
But this headline is a damned train wreck. COVID did not cause his suicide. He’s likely been battling demons for a LONG time, and the COVID LOCKDOWNS likely contributed to his demise.
He had severe untreatable tinnitus. It drives a fair number to suicide.
How sad. I’m very sorry about the loss to all his friends and family.
This restaurant is always packed, very hard to get reservations. Great chain, excellent food. The warm rolls itself would be a meal.
I have tinnitus.I’ve been told by Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary,a very famous eye, are, nose and throat hospital, that,in my case at least,it’s connected to moderate hearing loss. I suppose that mine isn’t the most serious case that can be found but I find mine annoying...but not a reason to contemplate suicide.
Prayers for his family and loved ones... we lost a good man.
The ONLY people white liberal 'elites' condemned because of this virus is traditional Americans who dare to call this the China virus. No 'apology' has been called for from the Chinese...that would be 'racist'. We we can call the Brazilian variant by it's location and the UK version by it's location. Looks like corrupt white liberal elites in DC are afr4aid of offending ONLY the Chinese government.
I hate to hear of anyone suffering like that. Tinnitus is one of those afflictions can seem quite minor, until it happens to you and the doctor can’t do anything about it.
Another condition that is known to cause people to ‘lose it’
would be Eye Surgery complications.
**April 1, 2019, Jessica Starr, a popular Detroit meteorologist killed herself eight weeks after undergoing corrective eye surgery. She had a procedure called SMILE surgery: ‘Small Incision Lenticule Extraction, seen as being less invasive than Lasix surgery. The pain during recovery is ongoing in some patients.
It was TINNITUS, which he battled for years, and finally got to be too much. My wife suffers with this, as had William Shatner for decades, and many others. It's a horrible affliction.
Tinnitus will drive some people insane. I have an old friend who suffers from it. Tried to kill himself twice. Now he’s doped up on prescription medications.
Just at at Texas Roadhouse (Southaven, MS.) yesterday. By the time I got my table, they were telling people it would be a 2.50 hour wait for a table.
I prefer Outback’s bloomin onion and salad.
Sad. RIP.
BTT
My give or take 60 year ‘battle’ with tinnitus has me sometimes thinking it is so loud that the person next to me can hear the ringing etc.
I can usually ‘white it out’ and when alone, ALWAYS have some sort of background music going.
OTOH there are times when I do not even think about it and have to ‘remind’ myself that there is a whole lot of ringing going on.
Yes, it is discomforting but I do not believe I have EVER had the urge to ‘end it all’ because of it...
I always filled up on the free peanuts. But they made a good sirloin.
