Longtime Democratic Rep. Alcee Hastings (D), the dean of the Florida congressional delegation, died Tuesday after a battle with pancreatic cancer, two leadership sources confirmed. He was 84.
Hastings started his career as a civil rights attorney and was nominated by former President Carter in 1979 as a federal judge in Florida. Nearly a decade later, he was impeached by the House for bribery and perjury, and convicted by the Senate, making him only the sixth federal judge in U.S. history to be ousted from office by the Senate. Hastings later made an unlikely political comeback in 1992, winning a seat in the same House of Representatives that impeached him years earlier.

Maybe they will flip this seat as it covers part of Palm Beach and areas of broward county. Time for Trump to work his magic in flipping this seat.
Imagine that, so corrupt that he was impeached as a Federal Judge but not corrupt enough for the Democrats to elect him to congress for quite a few years....

I know a couple people who have died of pancreatic cancer lately. It used to be rare. It doesn’t seem rare anymore.

Hastings was a piece of work—a blatant criminal and con artist—who played the race card every chance he got.
I don’t think he actually hated whitey (like so many blacks in Congress)—he just loved conning them!

Fortunately he left his Race Card behind for other Democrats to pick up and use.
Hope he truly repented of his sins and accepted Christ as his Redeemer. The Bible does tell of God rejecting shameless sinners, though.
