After Derek Chauvin verdict, Garland announces DOJ Minneapolis policing probe
Fox News ^ | April 21,2021 | By Ronn Blitzer

Garland said the probe will be a "fully comprehensive review" that will look into whether the Minneapolis Police Department has a "pattern or practice of unconstitutional or unlawful policing." He specificed that this includes "using excessive force, including during protests," as well as "discriminatory conduct and whether its treatment of those with behavioral health disabilities is unlawful."

The investigation will be conducted by the DOJ's Civil Rights Division and the U.S. Attorney’s office for the District of Minnesota, and will examine the MPD's policies, training, supervision, use of force provisions, systems of accountability, and more in determining whether or not "other mechanisms" are needed to be put in place.,

"I strongly believe that good officers do not want to work in systems that allow bad practices," Garland said. "Good officers welcome accountability because accountability is an essential part of building trust with the community and public safety requires public trust."

The “findings” are already settled. They’ll now use the review to justify the findings.

Minnesota has plenty of pikes left over. They just need more heads.

Who in their right mind would want to be a policeman in Minnesota or any other blue state?

Therein lies the problem, standards have dropped so much to accomodate unqualified women and minorities to be cops, it drove out the good ones.

I liked it better when we had Barr and Sessions in position.

On second thought, no I don't.

Garland is a communist so I expect communist things.

They were both totally useless .

I think you will see most urbanized police just loiter around and count each shift as one step closer to the retirement numbers. I wouldn’t serve warrants or get aggressive on enforcement of the laws. Give the public exactly what they want.

I’ve said all along, its a focused, long-term leftist political effort to neuter and control one of the few remaining facets of local government, local control, local responsibility - your local police

As a reference - there are dozens of Federal law enforcement agencies. Have you ever heard a negative word in the MSM about any them? Are their officers doxed, or secrets leaked into the media? Has anyone ever called for defunding or “re-imagining” their jobs? Do agitated crowds show up to protest the FBI, ATF, DEA, CIA, etc..?

Being the victim of a falsified police report puts a law and order guy in an interesting position.

Every last officer needs to drop his/her badge on the mayors desk, turn on their heels, and walk out.
Let the brownshirts have their way and anarchy reign, since that seems to be what they want...

Every damn one in the police station should just go the hell home. Let the cities wallow in their own feces.

I have no problem with this. In fact, I hope the DOJ shuts down the Minneapolis PD within 48 hours.

George Floyd died while resisting arrest in a city with a Democratic mayor and a 100% Democratic council ... in a House district with a lunatic Democrat representative in Congress ... in a state with a Democratic governor, a Democratic AG, and two Democratic U.S. Senators.

Democrats killing black people is a long-standing American tradition.

Go for it, Merry Garland!

Garland must be the AG of the MOB. They are the people that are in charge these days.

I look for a whole lot more Minneapolis officers retiring or resigning. I wouldn’t work there.
