The shooter, James T. Hodgkinson, was a rabidly anti-Trump activist and Bernie Sanders supporting socialist. He was unaware that officers were even present, did not call the police, and was actively shooting at Republican Representatives. His intentions were CLEARLY to kill Republican Representatives. The fact that he was willing to die to accomplish that goal does not make this a “suicide by cop”, it makes it a terrorist attack. That the FBI would characterize it this way is no surprise, as knowingly or not, James T. Hodgkinson was doing exactly what the FBI was hoping for. If not for his social media activism, the FBI would have painted him as a white nationalist.

Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio) is asking the FBI to reassess their decision to classify the June 14, 2017 baseball field shooting outside of Washington as “suicide by cop” rather than a domestic terrorism case.
