Charles and Hannah Scarbrough sentenced in Ocala
A married couple has pleaded guilty to using doughnuts and pastries to lure black bears in rural Florida, allowing packs of dogs to attack them and then posting the gruesome videos on social media.
Charles Scarbrough entered guilty pleas of conspiracy to commit racketeering, animal baiting and fighting, unlawful use of a two-way communicating device and unlawful taking of a black bear, the Ocala Star Banner reports. He has agreed to cooperate with prosecutors. Because of that, sentencing was deferred, though he faces anywhere from five years of probation to more than two years in prison.
His wife, Hannah Scarbrough, was sentenced to more than five years of probation on charges of unlawful taking of a black bear and unlawful use of a communication device.

Florida has produced an overabundance of black bears.
This is all about violating the hunting regulations.
Someone is attempting to demonize the hunting of bears.
But in the grand ole biden usa you can kill the unborn human as you see fit.

I think it has more to do with the WAY they were killed.
Maybe I misread it, but it doesn’t sound like they were hunted, but used as a means of brutal entertainment?
But I could be wrong about that.
It doesn't matter to the animals.
What matters is solid conservation of the animal populations, to sustain a desired population level, and maximize the resource.
Most anti-hunters want to stop all hunting. They believe hunting is bad.
There also used to be ‘sport’ called Bear Baiting. A tethered bear fought a pack of dogs until died or killed all the dogs.
Horrible.
Why all the video twain?
This wasn’t hunting.
“Unlawful use of a two-way communicating device” is a doozy.
This is not hunting and I’m a hunter...usually the dogs force a bear up a tree and the hunter shoots and kills it.
In this case they were basically producing a Dog or Cock fighting video...it’s not right or humane hunting....
Although it does not say it, but they must have cornered the bear otherwise a bunch of dogs would have been really hurt in the process....
These were not hunters. These were slobs. No better than the jerks who play fantasy sniper and take shots at elk from 1200 yards. Often the elk is wounded or unrecoverable. Wanton killing is not hunting.
