A Utah man who has been charged with participating in the Jan. 6 breach of the U.S. Capitol, has reportedly had tens of thousands of dollars seized by the federal government.
John Sullivan sold footage of a confrontation between Capitol Police and the crowd storming the building to multiple news outlets. Part of it showed an officer shooting and killing Ashli Babbitt.

Federal authorities confiscated approximatedly $90,000, according to a report from Reuters.
The court filings cited by Reuters, which were unsealed Thursday, show that Sullivan also faces new charges. He faces eight criminal counts, including weapons charges.
Sullivan is one of several Utahns charged with being involved in the insurrection.

I believe so. He was also an AntiFA guy. I thought he was going to get a free-pass from Nancy and her anti-American crowd.

Nevertheless I believe the conservatives should get him legal rep to fight this seizure. As he wrongly is not charged with a crime the seizure cannot be a forfeiture. Making it just plain theft.
BLM = Antifa. Hard to separate them. This guy and all of the other terrorist agitators all need to be in jail.
You are correct that everyone should be treated the same under the law. As this develops it should be determined what the law is as relates to him.
Insurrection will be hard to prove since they were invited in and such charges have not ever been applied to anyone else, setting a precedent that mere presence is not insurrection.
This guy is a bad dude. He was part of a riotous traffic stopping crowd which led to a trapped motorist being shot.
He was inches away when the woman was shot Jan 6. As soon as she was shot he stepped aside and changed his outfit.
Except for the group who assaulted the police, I believe the January 6th incident was truly a First Amendment protest. There were no firearms or explosives involved, many were obviously sight-seeing under the supervision of the police. The group which did act violently and confronted the police should be prosecuted - but not the others - a peaceful protest.

Consideration - he was paid thousands of dollars by CNN for his video and they gave him a friendly nationwide interview right afterwards. Query - what if he - a known BLM militant - contracted with CNN before 1/6?!?
The article says he IS being charged with multiple crimes.
Fed.Gov is now completely illegitimate.
Will this video footage make it into the Jan 6 Commission evidence?
I also am having a hard time understanding how authorities could just take his money. I guess they were considering that he was committing a crime while filming in the Capitol. And profiting from that crime is also a crime.
