Law professor Alan Dershowitz was dragged online after saying Wednesday that former president Donald Trump's lawsuit against Google, Facebook and Twitter is an "important First Amendment case."
"This is the most important First Amendment case of the 21st Century," the lawyer declared on Fox News' "Hannity."
He went on, "It's important because it pits freedom of speech on the one hand against the First Amendment on the other hand. That may sound paradoxical, but remember, it's the high-tech giants that are banning freedom of speech. They are censoring but they're claiming the right to do so under the First Amendment so they're using the First Amendment as a sword against freedom of speech. That's why I call this 'the new censorship.'"
Trump sued the companies and their respective CEOs on Wednesday after being banned from Facebook and Twitter. He has not been able to tweet or post since January, when supporters of his stormed the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to stop the certification of President Joe Biden's 2020 election win. Five people died.

Look Out Mr.D. Law licenses are getting cancelled left and right these days.
The same CommieFascists who have cried for 60 years about the Hollywood blacklist (BY CONSUMERS) of known Communists.
Hollywood still hired some Communists and gave them pseudonyms. The studios/producers weren’t all anti-Commie or pro-blacklisting.
The democrat children are really scared
Article brought to you by the same clowns who claim the Capitol trespassers of Jan 6th was an insurrection.
As George Carlin used to say “It’s a big club and you ain’t in it.”
Ridicule, the Alinsky weapon of choice among the Swamp Briggades. It’s how you know they fear you and your sound argument. Unfortunately ridicule gets ratings so it’s also the preferred method of scripted propaganda rich media outlets.
Yep...but it is a club that is now dedicated to pure evil. They are in a self defeating box and they will destroy the country before they give up their positions of power and influence. The 70’s are laughing at us because our elite are not only corrupt, they are completely incompetent. They are without morals, but the real problem for the rest of the country is that they are truly idiots and incompetent. We are f........d. The DOJ, FBI, CIA, and IRS are corrupt and until these institutions are restored we are F......d.
Over the last 6 months or so SCOTUS has proven itself to be worse than useless. Ten bucks says that the President will never again be on twitter or facebook.
My limited understanding is that the 1st amendment only applies to the GOVERNMENT not being able to control what you say, and since these are private companies it doesn’t apply to them etc.
If that comic isn’t intentionally disparaging Trump, then Garrison has never read Quixote.
That is correct, but this is going to raise millions in donations before it is thrown out of court, so there is that.
It is not flattering to compare President Trump to Don Quixote. In the stories Don Quixote is renowned for his courage, his chivalry and his good heart. But he is also delusional, and perceives enemies instead of the reality of windmills. So when he tilts at windmills there is no path to victory. He does not win, and is not respected for trying.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
bttt
How about the right of 80 Million voters to hear what President Trump has to say?
More specifically, the higher-ups of social media are alleged to be complying with requests from desparate Democratic elite to not only censor people, but also to ban them from using social media.
The argument against social media doing such things at the request of lawmakers is this. Such action is effectively like Congress making laws to abridge free speech which the 1st Amendment prohibits Congress from doing.
In other words, corrupt Congress is wrongly front-ending itself with social media just like Congress hides behind constitutionally undefined federal regulatory agencies that do Congress's dirty, unconstitutional work for Congress. Such agencies are unconstitutional imo.
In fact, here's a strange video clip of Nancy Pelosi that seems to lend credibility to a questionable relationship between Congress and social media.
Pelosi admits to using "wrap up smear?" (0:53 min., 2 years ago)
At this point in time, I agree with Trump and Cruz about Congress working with social media to do bad things.
Insights welcome.
How about if the Government is giving special favors to those companies that do its dirty work of censorship for it?
