The city’s remaining contested statue was torn from its pedestal Saturday once Charlottesville’s City Council voted unanimously to take down the statue of Meriwether Lewis, William Clark, and Sacagawea.

“The statue of Lewis, Clark and Sacagawea departed the intersection where it has stood since 1919 at around 2:45 p.m. aboard a flatbed truck,” the Daily Progress reported, adding the removal took approximately an hour and a half.

It was transported to Darden Towe Park in Albermarle County, which is where the Lewis and Clark Exploratory Center is located, the article continued:

Other than the altar they choose to worship at - one Islam the other totalitarian government, there really isn't any material difference between contemporary leftists and the Taliban.

“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”

There is no logical reasoning.

Of course it’s not logical ... just wondering what their beef is with Lewis and Clark.

Or Sacagawea for that matter.

If this had been something the Left cares about, a bunch of leftists would have chained themselves to the statue or something similar. But the Right just lets it happen. And the leftist revolution continues…

I can see Lewis and Clark were, OMG, white men and should be cleansed from the regime’s history books. But a Native American woman, was she simply not black enough? Is it enough to unprotect an individual from a protected class just because she associated with evil white men for a short period in her life?

This is anti-Asian hatred by the left.

Sacagawea’s ancestors came from Asia many thousands of years ago, across the land bridge that is now the Aleutian Islands.

I posted the article on Facebook from Daily Mail yesterday about taking down the Lewis and Clark statue. Facebook changed the title to Confederate Statues taken down.

Why? I cannot believe anyone still uses that platform. Ask folks under 40 if they use Facebook, you might be surprised from the answer.

My understanding is that it’s owned and displayed by private group and private land (and no the irony of that hasn’t escaped me) but yeah.

It is and it’s for sale too! It’s reflective of the city, dontcha think? Seattle is full of socialists and pretty much always been that way due to the early Scandinavian immigration.

Absolutely. There was a General Strike in the early 20th century here that was meant to be the first shot in la revolucion and its still revered with murals and the kike. Kind of a mini Soviet with local politicians as Lenin wannabes.
