I saw these guys just before covid kicked in, I was amazed at how good they still were. Their voices were gone, but they jammed like kids.

Dusty’s Guitar Tech took over for him the last few shows. Looks like he recently had hip or knee surgery, could barely move on stage.

Having been raised in Texas I always had affection and respect for this band. I knew of Billy Gibbons before Z Z Top. Also - an old childhood friend of mine was best man in a wedding of which Billy Gibbons was an usher. This was after Z Z Top were well known. How cool would that be to be ushered by Billy Gibbons? :-)
So sad to hear that Dusty died so young. I am glad I got to see them in their La Grange era years.

Oh, Dusty! Gone way too soon! :(
One of the best concerts I’ve ever been too. We all wore trench coats and beards and couldn’t talk for a few days from yelling and singing.
ZZ Top was simply awesome back in the day. I even named one of my dogs ‘ZZ’ after that band.

I hope they do an autopsy, when someone that good dies that young, we have to know how, how, how, how.

Dang. That sucks. Glad I got to see them … and in La Grange, TX of all places.
RIP, Dusty.
