Federal judge suggests 'gamesmanship' at play in Biden administration eviction freeze

A federal judge in Washington, D.C., on Monday suggested the Biden administration had engaged in “gamesmanship” by renewing a freeze on evictions despite an unfavorable Supreme Court ruling.

During a 30-minute hearing, U.S. District Judge Dabney Friedrich questioned why the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) imposed an eviction moratorium last week after officials had publicly expressed doubts about the administration’s legal authority to do so....

...One central issue in Monday’s hearing was which of two higher court rulings — one from the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals and another from the Supreme Court — should guide Friedrich’s decision, which she said she would announce soon...

...On Monday, an attorney for the Department of Justice (DOJ) told Friedrich that Kavanaugh’s concurrence was not binding on her forthcoming decision.

“We only have the views of one justice,” said DOJ lawyer Brian Netter. “We don't know what the viewpoints of the [other] justices were.”...

...“We're in a new chapter in this pandemic,” Netter said. “The new, or extended, moratorium is a reflection of the updated public health situation.”

Friedrich responded: “You say we’re in a new chapter, but we’re also in a new chapter with many more people vaccinated.”...

As usual, the left plays chess and is 10 moves ahead of the dunderhead right.

DNC voters were furious that Pelosi left DC without having a vote on extending the eviction moratorium.

So, Biden’s CDC extends the moratorium knowing it will be shot down by SCOTUS.....but it buys them time.

SCOTUS will shoot this down during next year’s election and say the CDC has no authority.

The Democrats will scream about the “Trump Court” and the need to keep the Democrats in control of the Senate to ensure Biden can nominate justices that would extend the eviction moratorium.

It is distractions, diffusion and campaigning.

Communists play a great long game. It isn’t as if landlords don’t still have rights in 2020 and beyond, although Democrats (aka communists R us) are working to take them away. They also always claim they have nothing to hide and then proceed to hide it. I saw a video of LiberalHivemind on their latest hypocrisy, and you can check it out at Whatfinger News in crawler link top of page. Obama’s enormous tented (and thus indoor) unmasked birthday blowout means a rude awakening for the left since Americans noticed it. People don’t own property so they can allow people to use it for free, they invest in it to show a return (usually from renting or selling it). The left are now trying to portray that as evil, while belittling the illegality of country burglars (aka illegal aliens).

The left are intent on stripping us all of our rights, then replacing us with their beloved illegal aliens because lower IQ people are easier to control.

Lawlessness and fascism. Trump would be impeached for a similar move

No name is needed. It was a criminal action, deserving of impeachment.

Dems are fighting to win. The GOP is not and doing the minimum required to dupe their base voters into continuing to vote for them.

Communists have core values. There political opponents, the GOP, do not. Other than open borders and unfair trade of course.

Yes, the communists have core values and are consolidating the party so only those members with the same core values are the leaders of the future.

That is why they are going after Cuomo and Newsome.

Cuomo and Newsome may support the agenda, but they put kleptocracy ahead of those values. Like the Clintons and Pelosi, they will sell out those core values in order to retain power and enrich themselves.

That is why the GOP is feckless as well. They are more concerned with their own enrichment than their principles.

The communists are now cleaning house. Only true believers ( such as Bernie, AOC) will be allowed to lead in the future. Yes, they can enrich themselves, but they will never compromise their core values.

Pelosi said she did not know that the eviction moratorium was ending before she adjourned Congress. The left went ballistic. They know her husband is a huge real estate developer. They know she was lying to them.

Anyone who thought the Dems were unwilling to compromise before are in for a shock after they clean house. There will be no bipartisan legislation.

They have a plan to ensure they have the majority forever.

“gamesmanship” ?

Is that the new term for ‘corruption’?

This would have already been settled and landlords would have their property back if Kavenaugh wasn’t such a dickless coward.
